**update – this deal may be dead depending on where you live. check the your coupons. some areas received Trident coupons that are good only for 3packs which won’t work for this scenario.
Trident Gum is on sale for 2/$2.00 this month at Walgreens. And, you can actually get it for FREE PLUS get paid to take it home. I haven’t done this deal yet so let me know how it goes if you try! See below for the scenario:
Buy 9 packs of Trident Gum (18 pieces of pum/pk) on sale $1.00 each
Minus one $4.00/6 Trident Gum 8/08/10 SS Insert
Minus one $2.00/3 Trident Gum 8/08/10 SS Insert
Minus one $1.00/2 Trident Gum Walgreens Store coupon from September coupon booklet (you will find this by the ads) This will deduct $4.50
Total Due: FREE plus $1.50 Moneymaker (if your store allows)
**Make sure you purchase $1.50 worth of other items and give those items to the cashier first before you give the gum. Also – if your cashier does not allow the overage, they should adjust the coupon values down so that you get the gum for free w/o overage. Bring the Walgreens policy with you so that if there is a problem, you can show the cashier the part of the policy that states to adjust the value of the coupon down so that you receive the item for free.
Thanks Deal Finding Chik

WOW…I know it’s a typo but you have to buy 66 packs of gum to get $4 off on the first coupon…LOL…I have more then that in a fridge from when our Albertsons was closing I bought all the sugar free gum…LOL My husband would kill me if I purchased any more gum…

EEK! I need to hire a proofreader and that typo is a sign that I’m done blogging for the night! Thanks for pointing it out Amanda!

Can you use 4 Walgreens $1/2 with the purchase of all of those gums, or does Walgreens not work that way?
Liza says
Hi Carrie – great question! The register will automatically deduct $4.50 when you use just one of the $1.00/2 walgreens store coupons. Their registers are programmed to do that automatically.
Cindy says
how is it a 1.50 MM….wouldnt it only be a 1.00MM?
9 gums at 1.00each =$9
4/6Q-2/3Q-1/2(4Q)=10$
so only a 1$MM right?
Cindy says
so in a sense, will the computer deduct .50 off that odd ball 9th pack? Is that how we get the extra .50?
sara says
it will auto deduct .50 for each it doesn’t have to be in pairs, it can be in odd numbers.

I’m kind of confused about the Walgreens coupon thing. Does this mean that all Walgreens coupons adjust according the number of items you buy that qualify for the coupon? For example, if I buy 36 packs of gum instead of 9, do I still only need 1 Walgreens $1/2 coupon?
sara says
yes only one, wags coupons will automatic deduct .50 for each.
Cindy says
THIS DEAL DOES NOT WORK. I JUST TRIED IT. THE CASHIER POINTED OUT THAT THE COUPON IS FOR $4 OFF 6 3-PACK BAGS OF EITHER TRIDENT, DENTYNE OR STRIDE GUM.
So disappointed!
Joem says
Yes, Cindy, I had the same thing happen 🙁 …. it is for 6 – 3packs
