Lunch Ingredients Before Juicing
Lunch after Juicing – This was by far the WORST drink I’ve ever had in my life.
So my 10 day Juice Cleanse has come and gone and many of you have asked me for updates on how it went. All in all, it went really well! I was able to get caffeine, sugar and salt pretty much entirely out of my system. By day 9 I started to feel REALLY good. Lots of energy and just healthy. I was able to run for the first time and while I was much slower than before the cleanse, I was happy that I had the energy! And, I lost some weight! Hubby also started feeling better while being on the cleanse around Day 9. He also noticed that his chronic headaches that he usually experiences mid-afternoon totally disappeared while on the cleanse. And, his morning allergy symptoms lessened drastically. Since the cleanse has ended, he’s noticed his headaches coming back and his morning allergies has worsened. I don’t think that that is a coincidence!
I ended my juice cleanse after my Monday morning breakfast juice instead of juicing all day Monday. Easter Sunday I “cheated” at my mom’s house since she made a nice Easter meal. So, when Monday came around, I had a difficult time thinking about juicing all day and instead prepared a healthy lunch and a fun dinner (salmon with pesto and salad with EVOO and balsamic vinegar).
My husband and I are going to continue juicing every morning. In fact, our typical morning juice looks much like the pictures below – except we are adding greens like spinach and/or cucumber. I don’t think I want to have any kale juice anytime soon. Sadly I never got used to kale juice. So bizarre. Many people say they love vegetable juice. I really hated it. That said, now I’m excited to cook recipes including kale and all of the other veggies we drank last week. I just don’t want to drink them again for a while 😉
Breakfast Ingredients Before Juicing
Breakfast Juice After Juicing – this was one of my favorite juices to drink. So yummy.
My eating schedule has gone back to normal now however, I’ve tried to revamp some things. For breakfast, as I said, we drink juice. I’m trying to keep coffee out of my life permanently as well. Today I had a small cup mainly because I was up at 5:30 to go swimming and running. Hopefully I will have one or two cups of coffee a week instead of one or two cups a day. For lunch, I’ve been eating well-rounded meals with whole grains and lots of veggies. (Like the personal size pizza I made for lunch today :)) I’m also trying to eat the majority of carbs before 5 pm. Then, for dinner I plan on preparing lean meats, fish or beans and lots of veggies (either steamed or fresh).
Would I do the Reboot Juice Cleanse again? Yes. Would I look forward to doing it again? No. But it wasn’t that bad. In retrospect, the vegetable juices may have been hard for me to get down but the end result of how I felt on Day 9 and 10 was so worth it.
Are you in the midst of a cleanse? Have you done a cleanse before? Leave a comment with your thoughts! Would love to hear them!

I’m so proud of you guys! I did my first 10-day cleanse back in February. It was extremely difficult at first, but my body had a lot of work to do 🙂 I’m guessing you have seen “Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead”? It’s a great movie and it’s what inspired me to do my fast. We have had a juicer for years, but had never done a full on fast before. I wish you well as you continue on your journey to good health!
