I thought that every day through Thanksgiving we could all write one thing here on Addicted to Saving that we are thankful for. I know that schedules are getting busier for most of us. The thing I keep reminding myself is that this week is not just about busy schedules, Thanksgiving cooking and baking, Black Friday sales, Cyber Monday sales and more. This week let’s take some time to really be thankful for the blessings we have been given. I also want all of you to know that I truly realize some of you are struggling this year – some of you have dealt with death, financial loss, marriages ending, sickness and so much more. My heart hurts for you as I have BEEN there. I know that sometimes, our losses and trials seem so horrible that it is tough to find a positive light through all of the pain. But, if you can, look to find something you are thankful for and try to focus on these good things this week.
So – for today, let’s write one thing we are thankful for. I will remind all of you of this post every day through Thanksgiving so keep thinking of things you are Thankful for.
My Thankful Thought for the Day: One of the things I try to do every time I go running is to thank God for each step. I know that so many people are not able to run and I try to always be thankful for having the ability to run. Despite being thankful for running, I find I take for granted my health quite a bit. A year ago I had surgery and I thought I would rebound quickly. I remember telling my doctor that I would running a week after surgery – especially considering the fact that I ran 10 miles the day before surgery. 😉 Well, the recovery wasn’t as quick or painless as I imagined. In fact, I was pretty miserable. My situation, however, was actually a breeze compared to many people. Many people are living with cancer, the side effects of chemo and radiation, chronic pain, unknown diseases and so much more. When I think about my situation a year ago, I realize it wasn’t so bad after all.

Each day is a gift and reading your note makes me realize that I have a lot to be thankful for… life has not been easy, but I am grateful for everything I have. Your site has helped us so much! Thank you very much! You help so many people!
I am most thankful for people like you, who take their time and effort to help others, and ask for nothing in return. This past June, my significant other suffered a great injury while at work, and has not been mobile or self sufficient by any means since. I have solely taken on the role of caregiver to him, our child, and our pets, while working full time and trying to maintain our household. Finances were tight before the accident, to say the least, but have gotten that much worse since I have become our only source of income. Time is very limited, the days are just not long enough to accomplish everything that needs to be done. That is why I wanted to take the time to personally say Thank You…thanks to your website I can quickly find the best sales to match with coupons to be able to feed my family and provide personal care items, during a chapter of my life that I otherwise might not be able to do so.
I am so thankful for life! And to be living! That is one thing I know I take for granted sometimes! But it’s soo true! I have a great family and I am thankful for them! I finally landed a dream job and have already advanced to another position 🙂 And I have lost about 10 pounds this past month because I am not depressed anymore. I stopped feeling sorry for myself a few months ago and since I changed my attitude things have shined on me 🙂 I am thankful for my new attitude! And I am soo thankful to you Liza, that you were able to help me save money while I was not working! I found you one year ago and You have helped us more than you’ll ever know! And I still coupon ( I do not have all the amazing printables that come out during the day…. unless they make it until night time but i am still saving more than 70% every week! And that’s amazing! We are continuing to live off one income and have an emergency fund 🙂 which would not be possible if we were paying that 70% higher grocery bill every week! ) Happy Thanksgiving Liza and to your Husband and your wonderful Mother!
This time last year me and my 7 year old son were homeless bouncing from place to place, including a shelter. My family has been thru a lot in life and I’m thankful to still have them. I’m thankful for being able to be a better stuart of my money thru couponing, Im thankful for having a nice house, and a bright future. I am so very blessed and I thank and praise God for it all. Im thankful that you Liza went thru all you did that made you who you are today. Thank you for all your kindness and hardwork. I hope you have a relaxing or at least (because cooking a huge meal can be hard) a blessed holiday filled with family.
