Happy New Year! We have had a hectic week! Being first time parents, we’ve learned that the holidays are no longer a time of relaxation! 😉 We spent Christmas at home with my family. My brother was able to spend a ton of time with Asher and gave Asher a stuffed monkey that Asher loves. It was awesome to watch Asher bond with his Uncle! Then, we headed out to cold St Louis to spend time with hubby’s family. We were greeted at the airport with the fact that our brother-in-law and nephew had the flu (we were all staying at hubby’s parents house). In retrospect, we should have gotten a hotel room.. but then again we still would have been exposed to the germs when we hung out with his family so who knows. Despite almost all of hubby’s family getting sick at one time or another, we had a great time and then headed home New Year’s Eve. Our flight was delayed and we didn’t end up arriving home until 2:00 am. Asher was UP and awake the entire flight despite it being hours and hours after his bedtime. He finally passed out during the car ride home. He ended up sleeping what seemed like 24 hours straight waking briefly for a meal and then passing back out. I then got the wonderful flu that was going around hubby’s family. Now that we are parents and run our own full-time business, it is really tough when one of us gets sick. I have to give hubby a huge shout-out because he maintained everything while I was sick in bed for 36 hours straight. Today I’m feeling better although my stomach was only up to having two pieces of toast and a few crackers. I’m praying hubby and Asher don’t get sick!
Hubby headed to Publix with Asher for today’s shopping trip. Because we were out of town this week for our coop pickup, we had to pick up a bit more produce than normal at Publix. While we still have some produce in our fridge (and on our counter), we needed a few more staples for Asher.
