So I specifically spent over $250 on nursery items in Amazon Baby Nursery – a pack and play, a sheet set, and a bath spout – specifically so I could qualify for their promotion, which was to receive a $50 credit to the Baby store 30 days after making the original purchase.
When I made the purchase, I specifically used the link to the promotion to make sure that each item qualified. All items were definitely selected through the link and all were sold by Amazon (I wanted to make sure everything qualified).
So it’s been more than 30 days, and I call Amazon to find out what the status is. I got an email back this morning telling me that NONE of the items qualified.
No one can tell me why.
Since the promotion ended on January 31, there’s no “live” list of eligible items visible to the public. I have to take Amazon’s word that these “didn’t qualify.”
After talking with customer service again this morning, I was able to get a $25 promotional credit, but I have to say, I’m really disappointed. I feel like Amazon just pulled the rug out from under me after the fact. Truthfully, I probably wouldn’t have spent that money at the time if it hadn’t been for the promotion.
My parents also made a significant purchase, gifting us some furniture for the nursery, and my mom told me that she hasn’t received her credit, either. I wonder if Amazon had bait and switched her as well.
Did anyone else participate in this event? Did you get your credit?

Wow! This is interesting Devon! And to confirm, you placed your order on or prior to January 31st?

I also participated in the Amazon Baby Nursery Event before January 31st and couldn’t tell how an item qualified so I chatted with customer service prior to placing my order. The man told me that as long as the little box advertising the promotion showed up on the item page that it qualified. I ordered $250 and also did not get my $50 promotion credit. I chatted with customer service this weekend now after 30 days and they sent my information to someone else for review. I just noticed the email reply from them saying that my items did not qualify. I was very upset, especially when it felt sleezy when I was ordering since I couldn’t tell what really qualified and what didn’t, however, I was told by customer service prior to my order that those items should qualify as long as the ad was on that page. I just spoke to someone from Amazon on the phone and they looked into it and sent it on to someone else who immediately corrected the situation and gave me the $50 credit. I am glad to have gotten the credit now but very upset that it was such an ordeal. I would not have ordered what I did at the time if the promotion wasn’t going on so I was nearly prepared to dis-assemble it and return the items (large baby items that I had already assembled). I feel that the promotion was not well handled on Amazon’s part and I informed the customer service representative I talked to about that and requested that the frustration be brought to the people who run the promotions. The whole thing just feels sleezy, I would much prefer a coupon code and immediate notification as the waiting for 30 days is a joke especially for Amazon which is usually so straight forward. I hope they will change their promotions in the future. Devon, please contact Amazon again to notify them of your displeasure with the promotion as well so they know they have various upset customers over this.

The same thing happened to me as well. I bought things from this promotion as well and hadn’t gotten the credit. I called Amazon today and they said they will email the promotion department and would call me back however I just got an email saying my items did not qualify. I’m calling them again and now know after your posts that it’s happening to more people than just me. I’m so upset at Amazon. They really screwed up.
