Happy Friday! I hope you guys had a great week! I always get excited once Friday comes around each week. Partially because it is time to type up my Photo Show & Tell and partially because, well, it’s Friday! I still have to work on the weekend, but I don’t work as much as during the week. So I can take a little bit of a break and get caught up on things that we put on the wayside. Like putting away clean clothes that have piled up. Organizing closets. Organizing pantries. Going for a run. etc etc.
I want to say that I have gotten into a good routine as a mom. I have gotten into a routine with Asher and his needs.. however, I’m really struggling figuring out how to juggle all of the responsibilities I have. Before being a mom, I would work approximately 60 hours a week (sometimes more). Now, I just can’t work that much. Asher is so incredibly busy that when he is awake either hubby or I are basically playing with him or chasing him around. It is difficult to do pretty much anything else. Asher is good with hubby – he plays more independently when hubby is watching him. But when I’m around, Asher is almost constantly pulling on my pants trying to get me to hold him, feed him (all the time) and play with him. Most nights as I’m feeding Asher dinner, I realize I haven’t eaten at all during the day. And on the really busy really bad days, I will look around the kitchen and see what I saw last week (see below).
How embarrassing is that? Just keeping it real! You can see Asher’s toys on the kitchen floor that I gave him in an attempt to have two free hands as I prepared dinner for him. I am happy to announce that the kitchen does look better now. But the picture above is definitely a glimpse into our life right now!
Hubby went to Publix for today’s shopping trip. Many of the deals I had on our grocery list were not available as the shelves were wiped clean. Hubby spoke with a manager who said people were lined up yesterday (Thursday) morning to do some of the freebie deals. We also noticed that our Publix is now imposing limits on some of the available deals. You guys – I know that we can get awesome deals at Publix. That is why I shop there each and every week. But let’s really make sure we are couponing appropriately and not clearing shelves on deals. Publix is starting to tighten the reigns. If you haven’t read the post I wrote earlier this week about couponing, stockpiling and hoarding, check it out. It definitely caused a stir and generated a lot of conversation. I would love to hear your thoughts on it!
Please remember that you do not see much produce in today’s shopping trip because hubby and I belong to a weekly coop. So, every week, we get a bin full of around 40 lbs of fruits and veggies. We also have stocked up on boneless, skinless chicken breasts with Zaycon Foods. **Right now Zaycon Foods is taking reservations for their upcoming $1.89 Fresh Boneless Skinless Chicken Event!

Trust me, someday he will leave for college. “Boy, I wish I had kept my kitchen cleaner when he was little.” said no mother, EVER. Perhaps he is just going through a needy stage. Some people may even advise you to hire a babysitter for a few hours so you can clean your house. I think it would be better to hire someone to clean your house so you can be with your baby! (Not that there is anything wrong with having a few hours to yourself!)

Thank you Kelli for your kind words!

Looking at your shopping list here- do you consider the price for ALL and FINISH to be stockup prices? Im trying to see the difference to where I live now in the Midwest to what I have to look forward to in prices there.
I paid at Bakers (or Kroger stores) $.99 for my ALL this week and $1.34 for my finish this week. So just curious to see if your list here is considered “stockpile prices for Florida” .
THanks!!!

Michelle, welcome to Florida (when you get you here of course!) There are times when you can get All for less ($0.99, for instance), but generally at Publix, which is where I do all my shopping, $1.99 would be a stockpile price.
As for the Finish – you can probably do better when the lesser size is on sale. I think it goes BOGO at $7.99 for two, which means you’re getting it for $1.84 each. I actually only bought it this time to show the deal in case someone was completely out and needed more, as it’s way better than paying $11.99! 🙂
Great questions Michelle!
