Museum Day Live! is an annual event hosted by the Smithsonian magazine that offers FREE museum admissions. This year, free admission falls on Saturday, September 27th, 2014. Most all of the 19 Smithsonian museums are free and open 364 days a year. Museum Day Live! gives the opportunity for those that don’t live near a Smithsonian museum to grab a FREE ticket to a local museum near you. The tickets will become available starting August 1st. You will want to browse the available museums early as the FREE tickets do start “selling out” the closer it gets to the event.
