**Attention** Mommas who have bought baby wipes at Walgreens, Sam’s Club, or Family Dollar recently, you’ll want to read the following.
Nutek Disposables, who makes baby wipes under the brand names of – Cuties, Diapers.com, Femtex, Fred’s, Kidgets, Member’s Mark, Simply Right, Sunny Smiles, Tender Touch, and Well Beginnings – is recalling baby wipes b/c they may contain a bacteria called Burkholderia cepacia, or B. cepacia.
This is apparently relatively harmless to healthy people but can pose a risk to babies and those with weakened immune systems. According to PIX11, “Complaints of odor and discoloration and a single report of irritation first alerted the company to a possible issue and microbial testing showed that B. cepacia was present in some of the wipes. That discovery prompted a limited recall of specific lots on Oct. 3. The recall was expanded over the weekend to include all lots of the affected baby wipes.”
Take a look at the chart below and if you’ve bought wipes from any of those places, then please be aware of the situation.
