This is the first week of a new weekly tradition for Walgreens. Going forward, every week there will be a scenario post for Walgreens. This post will include specific items and coupons that you can use to maximize your dollar AND Register Rewards at Walgreens. Please know that you do not have to follow these transactions if you do not want to. The goal of this post is to help you get an idea on how to roll your Register Rewards from one week to the next. Please also know that these transactions do not take into account tax. Every state taxes differently so you may need to budget a little extra to cover tax.

Hi Lily!
Happy Thanksgiving! My story of Walgreens trip today. . .I had my Walgreens list all planned out according to the Jingle Bucks (RR’s) offered 11/25-11/27 on certain items. In addition, I took my regular manufacturer’s coupons (I had a coupon for just about every item!). I figured out that I would have to divide my purchases into 4 transactions to make the most out of my RR’s. However, I was very disappointed that the RR’s came out as $3.00, $2.00, etc as MANUFACTURER’S COUPONS good on your next purchase of anything at Walgreens. All fine and dandy until I placed my regular manufacturer’s coupons with the next transaction and planned to pay for it with my RR’s. The clerk & manager both told me I could only use one manufacturer’s coupon per item, so this included the RR’s. I couldn’t use my own manufacturer’s coupon and pay for all my items with the RR’s. For example, if I purchased 3 items, used 3 manufacturer’s coupons from the paper or internet, then I couldn’t pay for them with my 3 RR’s (because then it would be using 6 manufacturer’s coupons total). Not sure if this is making sense to you, but I was very disappointed after spending considerable amount of time preparing my list before heading to the store. Sounds like you make out quite well, but was wondering if they allowed you to use the coupons you brought in AND use the RR’s on the same items? Please email me back, I would just be interested to know!
It makes perfect sense to me because I had the same problem tonight. So, I guess when Liza said to purchase some small filler items for 20 cents, that would be the reason why. I was kind of flustered too, so I just did what I could and will have to go back next week wiser. No disrespect, but I’m glad it wasn’t just me – I thought I was crazy! Happy Thanksgiving!
