3 Uses for Dawn That Don’t Involve Washing Dishes (plus Giveaway & Coupon!)

I’ve grown up using Dawn Dish Soap.  My mom always used it to wash dishes and some of my earliest memories are of myself begging my mom to let me “help her wash the dishes.” (Help actually meant that I would play with the bubbles and foam… but don’t all little kids want to do that? 🙂 ) I always loved the fresh scent and foamy bubbles I could create as I helped wash dishes. I love Dawn because it can be used for some many things. As I mentioned above, we’ve used it to bathe our dog when he had fleas. I also like

to use it to clean other parts of my house besides just the dishes in my kitchen sink.

1) Multi-Purpose Cleaner
When I want to clean our tile floors, I will add just two drops of Dawn to 8 ounces of water in a spray bottle. This spray mixture can also be used to clean bathroom and kitchen counters, sinks, and even toilets! I love this cleaner because just a little bit of Dawn goes a long way.

2) Bathroom Cleaner
Dawn is the perfect bathroom cleaner when you mix it with white vinegar. To make this mixture, heat vinegar in the microwave until it is hot and fill half of a spray bottle the vinegar. Fill the rest of the bottle with Dawn. Put the lid on and shake to mix well. To clean, spray the bathroom cleaner on the bathroom sink, tub, tile around the tub and toilet. Let it sit for a few minutes and then scrub away with a sponge. Rinse the area with water and you will have a sparkling clean bathroom.

3) Window Cleaner
I never knew that I could use Dawn as a window cleaner until I saw a recipe from Merry Maids. Take a gallon of water and mix in 3 drops of Dawn. Fill a spray bottle with the solution and then wash your windows as you normally would.
