CVS Scenarios for Weekly Ad 12/19/10 – 12/25/10

Below are new CVS scenarios.  This post includes specific items you can purchase and coupons that you can use to maximize your dollar AND your Extra Care Bucks at CVS.  Please know that you do not have to follow these transactions if you do not want to.  The goal of this post is to help you get an idea on how to roll your Extra Care Bucks from one week to the next.  Please also know that these transactions do not take into account tax.  Every state taxes differently so you may need to budget a little extra to cover tax.

Scenario One Transactions

This set of transactions has you coming out of pocket $6.47. If you use ECBs you earned from last week, you will spend less money OOP. Scroll down to see Scenario Two which has you coming out of pocket a bit more but, again, if you use previously earned ECBs, you will spend less money out of pocket.

Transaction #1

Buy one Thermacare Neck, Wrist & shoulder heat wrap 1ct. $2.79 (will receive $2.79 ECBs)
Buy two Pantene Shampoo or conditioner 12.6 oz 2/6.97 (will receive $2 ECBs)
Use one B1G1 Pantene Shampoo WYB Pantene 11/28/2010 P&G Insert (exp 12/31/2010)
Use one $1/1 Thermacare HeatWrap
(If you have remaining ECBs from last week use them here to save even more!)
Total Due: (if you don’t use ECBs) $5.28
Receive $2.79 ECBs and $2 ECBs

Transaction #2

Buy two Listerine Antiseptic 500ml $3.99 each (will receive $4 ECB)
Use two $1/1 Listerine Mouthwash 12/6/2009 RP Insert (exp 12/31/2010
Minus $4.79 ECBs from Transaction #1
Total Due: $1.19
Receive $4 ECBs

Transaction #3

Buy one Revlon Nail $3.99 (will receive $2 ECB)
Minus $4 ECBs from Transaction #2
Total Due: Nothing
Receive $2 ECBs

Total Remaining ECBs to apply towards next week’s ad: $2.00 ECBs
Total Out of Pocket for all 3 transactions: $6.47+ applicable taxes for $17.74 in products. If you use ECBs from last week, you will spend much less out of pocket on Transaction #1.

Also – Don’t forget that you ECBs will expire in a few weeks and if you let them expire, you are basically throwing away money. If you are concerned you will let them expire, I would put your ECBs towards paper products like toilet paper and paper towels which are hard to get dirt cheap!
