I gave a private Addicted to Saving 101 class yesterday afternoon and one of the ways I mentioned you may be able to save money on fresh produce (and organic produce) is to purchase produce not at grocery stores but at local farmstands and farms. I found this great website called LocalHarvest.org. You can plug your zipcode in and find a list of local farms, farmer’s markets, CSAs and more. You might want to check it out if you are looking to buy local produce and save money at the same time! 🙂

I am glad you showed this, because I was just thinking of going this weekend to pick fruits…I have been with my family and friends and is so much fun…I think last year we went and picked a whole sack of citrus for $13…I had freshly squeezed oj for about a month since they stay fresh in the refrigerator for a while…it reminded me of how my granny used to make fresh oj every morning before I went to scholl. Thanks!
