I wanted to thank all of you for taking the time and spending the money on postage to send me your expired coupons. This past month I received 50 plus envelopes/boxes/etc from all of you filled to the brim with expired coupons. I never expected so many of you to participate and help out and I am so thankful for all of you. I realize you have to spend money to send the coupons my way so I wanted to thank each and every one of you who have taken the time and money to send me your expired coupons!
If you are new to Addicted to Saving, I send expired coupons to a military community in Vicenza, Italy that I’ve adopted. The military families overseas will then use the expired coupons at their commissary and PX or BX.
Below are the requirements if you are interested in with Addicted to Saving’s Couponing for the Troops:
1) Mail your expired coupons to: Addicted to Saving, PMB 105, 8348 Little Rd, New Port Richey, FL 34654
2) Send me all coupons that expired ON or AFTER March 1st. (Commissaries will accept older expireds, but I’m only going to send one month old coupons since I will do this once a month)
3) Do not send me printable coupons and do not send store coupons (i.e. Target, Publix, Walgreens etc) because commissaries overseas will not accept them.
4) Please Please Please cut your coupons out and then separate your coupons into two categories Food & Nonfood. If you mail all of your coupons to me in one envelope, use an elastic or paperclip to keep the two categories separated. Food is considered anything eaten by humans.. Food is also considered gum. Nonfood is considered toiletries, dogfood or catfood (since it’s not consumed by humans), vitamins, medicine, etc.
That’s it! I will do the rest of the work! I need all of your expired April coupons in my hand by May 14 th!

My husband is retired Air Force. I have tried to use coupons that were a day or two expired, and our commisary won’t accept them !

Are you living overseas? The stateside commissaries do not accept expired coupons, but the overseas ones do because they realize that it can take time to get coupons sent from the states. So overseas commissaries generally accept coupons up to 6 months past their expiration date.

i think this is great what you are doing.are you looking for more coupons?
Addicted to Saving says
Hi Nicole! I’m always looking for more coupons! I only send coupons out once a month so what I do each month is request the previous month’s expired coupons. That said, if you are new to this and want to send me coupons that expired before April, I’ll take them! Please only send me coupons that expired from March 2011 – April 2011. It will take me a couple of weeks to go through and sort the coupons and then once I send them, it will take at least a few weeks to get to the base in Italy. So, I don’t want to send coupons that expired before March since overseas commissaries only accept expired coupons up to 6 months. Thanks for the help and let me know if you have any further questions!
