If you live in the Tampa Bay area, you might want to take advantage of this HOT fresh produce deal! Right now, Hunsader Farms in Bradenton, Florida is offering 25 lbs (YES twenty-five pounds) of tomatoes for just $1.00!! There is a bit of a catch… you will have to pick all 25 lbs. But, I look at this like not only are you getting a steal on fresh produce but you are getting a bit of a workout! (Don’t forget to bring sunscreen!) Please please please call Hunsader Farms ahead of time to make sure they still have tomatoes available to be picked. I’m hoping they have tomatoes for at least a couple of weeks because I plan to pick at least 25 lbs.. Then I will have to figure out what to do with all of them!! :/ For more info, go HERE to Hunsader Farms website or HERE to Hunsader Farms Facebook page.
**I’m tempted to hold an Addicted to Saving field trip to go pick tomatoes! Wouldn’t that be fun? 🙂
Thanks Monica and Carmen! 🙂
Have a field trip, Liza! I am so in!!!!!
My family and I are going to go this weekend. They will be doing this until they are gone which is believed to be June 1st. Hunsader’s is a great place. They have a huge pumpkin festival every year.
Jealous! Now I really wish I lived in FL… But it’s a good reminder for everyone to wear sunscreen. 😉
My family went. It’s an amazing place. We plan on going again soon. They will actually charge by the container. We filled a reusable Publix bag for a dollar. We made bruschetta and salsa. Hope that gives you some ideas.
Love your blog! I’m in Palm Harbor and we made a day trip of it and picked TONS of tomatoes to freeze, and make salsa, and share. It’s a great place, and for people with kids they have a petting zoo and playground.
Having troubl contacting the farm. The U-pick hotline will not connect and Farm Market line is always busy. Last post by Hunsader was 4/26 on Facebook. Anyone gotten through or gotten an update on the status? THANKS!
