It is that time of the month again! Start gathering your August expired coupons for Couponing for the Troops! The picture above is of the military base in Vicenza, Italy that I send our expired coupons to each month. It is a picture of their Summer Quarterly Coupon Social. I can say with assurance that we have supplied a good majority of those coupons! Starting next month, I will adopt a second military base to send coupons to. You all are sending me so many coupons that next month we should be ready to send coupons to two bases!
As always, a huge thank you to everyone for sending me your coupons every month! I know that you have to pay for postage and I appreciate your generosity. Also – because of the huge volume of envelopes and boxes we receive, I can not confirm that we received your shipment. I hope that you understand!
Below are the requirements if you are interested in with Addicted to Saving’s Couponing for the Troops. I ask that you please take the time to sort and cut your coupons per the instructions below:
1) Mail your expired coupons to: Addicted to Saving, PMB 105, 8348 Little Rd, New Port Richey, FL 34654
2) Send me all coupons that expired ON or AFTER August 1st. (Commissaries will accept older expireds, but I’m only going to send one month old coupons since I do this once a month)
3) Do not send me printable coupons and do not send store coupons (i.e. Target, Publix, Walgreens etc) because commissaries overseas will not accept them.
4) Please Please Please cut your coupons out and then separate your coupons into two categories Food & Nonfood. If you mail all of your coupons to me in one envelope, use an elastic or paperclip to keep the two categories separated. Food is considered anything eaten by humans.. Food is also considered gum. Nonfood is considered toiletries, dogfood or catfood (since it’s not consumed by humans), vitamins, medicine, etc. Again – please cut your coupons.
That’s it! I will do the rest of the work! I need all of your expired August coupons in my hand by September 15 th!

I’m new to this, and I’m curious… what does the bases do with the expired coupons?
Thanks!!

Hi Teri – The families on base are able to use expired coupons that are up to 6 months old at their commissary. Commissaries are basically military base grocery stores. 🙂
