It’s that time of the year… Tonight TLC will begin Season 2 of Extreme Couponing. What do you guys think of Extreme Couponing? Do you like it? Dislike it? Are you thinking that the couponers are hoarders? inspiring? selfish? giving? Share your thoughts – I know you have them 😉
During the Addicted to Saving 101 class that I gave last night, we discussed Extreme Couponing at length and how the show’s couponers have caused stores AND manufacturers to tighten their restrictions on couponing. Many coupons now limit “one coupon per transaction” or limit “four like coupons in one transaction.” Stores are now limiting the number of items you can purchase. Stores are also reading the verbiage and restrictions on coupons much more closely.
My hope is that the new season of Extreme Couponing will be more responsible and less of a circus. I will probably be disappointed on that. I know over the spring we had live chats during Extreme Couponing and I found it to be a fun time to interact with all of you. So, to continue our tradition, I will be online tonight at 10 pm EST when the new season begins. If you are on Facebook at that time, feel free to join in on Addicted to Saving’s Facebook page.
**If you are new to Addicted to Saving and would like to start couponing and saving money, I can’t wait to help you out! Feel free to get started by reading my Addicted to Saving 101 – Intro to Coupons post. Also – stay tuned as I have a beginners series that I will be posting soon!

Definitely. Especially the lady on right now.. a stockpile valued at $30,000 = hoarding. (imho)

We will be on next week with my husband’s funny antics. Can’t wait to see what jokes he cracks this season! We had everyone rolling last time. He thinks they are hoarders too and threatens that if i expand over the pantry and laundry room, that that is enough. He started giving some of my stuff away when my family was visiting. I don’t mind but very funny to watch!

Jolie – At first I thought you meant that you were going to be featured on Extreme Couponing next week! 🙂 Too funny!

Didn’t watch the new eps, but I did catch some of the repeats that aired beforehand (needed a break when the Rays game just got too stressful to watch for a while – GO RAYS!!!). When I saw one chickie buy 35 bottles of Maalox, I just thought “who in the name of all that is sacred needs 35 bottles of Maalox!” Hubby and I are really just dabbling in the couponing thing, so the closest I’ve gotten to stockpiling was buying 6 boxes of Hamburger Helper to take advantage of the BOGO/$-off-three coupon combo. Can’t see myself ever buying 35 bottles of Maalox, though. Or maybe this is just how it starts???

I’ve couponed for years, where when I lived up north, I could double and triple them. That was one of my dissappointments about moving here to FL. After learning some of the tricks of the trade, I’m actually saving MUCH MORE. Thanks to all of you who do all of the legwork for us! Personally, I don’t like the Extreme Couponing Shows. They are way too dramatic, and I could and would not go into a strore and buy so many of the same item at one time. I would be thinking very negative thoughts about anyone who didn’t leave anything behind for fellow couponers. That is entirely too selfish!! I’m addicted, but would NOT hoard just to make myself feel better about myself or just to show-off. Incredibly inconsiderate!
