Couponing for a Cause
What happens when you start this type of shopping is you can get addicted to it. You’ll find yourself stockpiling and it can get to the point where you simply are collecting things you no longer need.
If you have a stockpile of groceries Liza Ford of www.addictedtosaving.com recommends you donate it. Extend your good fortune to those in need.
From her blog post on Friday March 26 Liza writes, “Before I started couponing, I never would have had the financial resources to buy everything in the picture above because let’s be honest, money is tight! But, since I’ve been couponing, I’ve been able to not only drastically cut my grocery/toiletry expenses each week while at the same time tripling the amount of products I buy each week! Because of this, my stockpile is sufficient enough that I can go through it and give tons of stuff away and yet still have a large enough stockpile to sustain my family.”
Ford challenges her readers to just give away the extras they get at the store to good causes. Maybe a coupon you got left you with four extra bottles of vitamins that you won’t be able to use before they expire. Why keep them when so many people can’t afford vitamins?
It doesn’t even have to be a charity that you give away your surplus to. Check with your local churches and schools and see if they know of a family in need. Imagine how happy a single mother or a destitute family would be to receive groceries from a stranger.
