I live in Orlando, and I don’t have to buy two of the BOGOs in order to get the deal. Many times I have bought just one item and it was marked down 50%. I shop at a couple dfferent Publixs around Orlando and have never had to buy two for the deal. Just an FYI 🙂

I also live in Orlando and in all of the Publix stores near me you have to buy two items in order to get the BOGO discount. The register will ring each item at the full price and then subtract the amount of the second one.
However, if it is a buy 2 for $5.00 deal I can buy one for $2.50.

They must have missed out on my 04/25/10 SS becuase the only Tostitos I have is for .55 off one bag and 1 jar. 🙁 I also checked with my good ol friend at My Coupon Hunter, and she doesnt have any. If anyone has extra, that they will not use, will you be willing to trade? I have lot and lots let me know what you need.

Liza, my boyfriend works for publix, and he says that you can ALWAYS buy fewer items and get the discount (B1G1 or B1 and get it 50% off). I found this is true, but that’s in our area of holiday/Tarpon/Palm Harbor/Clearwater….
BTW, for all you technologically advanced people with iphones or ipod touches, there is an app called Grocery IQ which not only lets you keep a shopping list and a grocery listing for different supermarkets, it also has a coupon link which allows you to email coupons to yourself and print before you go shopping. Try it out.
Hi Sarinagal! Thanks for the info. My question though. I have bought one item in a B1G1 sale before (by accident) and had to pay full price for the one item. The register at the stores I shop at charge full price for the first item and then $0.00 for the second. So it sounds like some registers allow for this and others do not? Also – great info on the app! I have a google phone and will have to see if there is a similar app on my phone!
To Clear up Confusion on the B1G1 issue: I would recommend that everyone assume that your store requires you to buy two items in order to get the B1G1 deal to go through. Then, once you see your receipt – look at it. If you have to pay full price on the first item and the second item is $0.00 then you WILL NEED to buy two items for the B1G1 sale. On the other hand, if you see your first and second item both priced at 50%, then YOU WILL need to buy only one item.
Do not assume (this is my motto for life :)) that you only have to buy one item without checking your store’s policy because you may end up paying full price and you will not get the deal.
