Okay. I am so tempted not to post a Photo Show and Tell for Publix this week. SO TEMPTED. But, I know that what all of you want to see is reality. Right? And, this week’s Publix ad (in my opinion) is far from stellar. Top it off with the fact that my Publix’s shelves were wiped clean of the razors, shave cream, fisher nuts and body wash that I had tons of coupons to put towards. (I think there are too many Addicted to Saving readers in my area :)) I also had to buy coffee filters which weren’t on sale because we were totally out. But beyond that, I am so blessed with I have a stockpile that will sustain my family for 4 – 6 weeks. So, during weeks like this, I don’t usually buy much. It’s frustrating though because I had a $5/$30 and a $10/$50 competitor coupon and I was prepared to use one of them. But, I couldn’t get my Publix total (before coupons) to $30.00! So, I used very few coupons. I had one of my favorite cashiers and she was surprised when she scanned the four coupons I gave her since I’m usually giving her a huge stack! And, I am wondering what she thought when she saw my total! But, this is reality. In real life, there are weeks when we save more and there are weeks when we save less. This week was so frustrating for me mainly because of the amount of money I spent on literally two bags of groceries. But, like I said, I am blessed with an awesome stockpile and despite my supbar week, I still saved money. On the groceries in the picture above(minus the lettuce – see below for notes on that), I spent $3.69 (including tax) and I saved $6.05…

Yuck, this week hasn’t been as much fun. I am actually a little depressed!! Then I had to laugh to myself because a month ago I could have cared less what was on sale. I feel better knowing I am not missing out on anything too major. I am sorry to hear about your trip but know your not alone. I also have been trying to score the Hydro Shave Gel and John Freida products but I think too many people now know. I’m gonna keep looking.
I also had the 5.00 off comp. q’s and used the John Frieda stuff to get my total up because they are 5.49 each and two of them get you up 11.00 and they are only 99 cents each after the q’s. Sorry it was so yucky. I on the other hand felt like the coupon gods were shining down on me. Everything I had on my list ended up having a peelie or a tearpad and I got some great deals this week. $203.00 worth of stuff for $37.00. Not too bad for a ton of stuff.

I went to 3 Publix’s this week to find the razors, everyone was out of stock. (pass 4 on the way home from work anyway, so i thought i would try) I’m determined to get them for FREE!!

Does your Publix give rainchecks on unavailable items? Mine does.
Hi Karin! My Publix does give rainchecks – in fact I think all Publix locations give rainchecks. I am planning on going back probably Monday and if the items are still not there, I will get rainchecks for them 🙂
I didn’t think my trip was that great either. I needed some stuff that I didn’t have Q’s for. That is always a bummer. Though I was able to get a bunch of John Frieda and some shave gel.
About the razors, at my East Lake Publix, they were not on the shelf but we found a whold stockpile on an end rack near the register. They were kind of hiding and I didn’t even notice them, my hubby did. Also, when I went to the Curlew and 19 Publix on Wednesday, they had a lot of shaving cream. Hope this helps!

I’m just getting started with this whole couponing thing and am getting addicted rather quickly. I went to Pulbix last night for the second time in a row (it was the new sale week). last night I spent $37.23 and saved $50.39. I am sure that once I get more coupons saved up I will be able to save more, right? I also went to CVS and took advantage of a lot of their free deals. I need to work on using those ECB’s though.
My husband is very excited that I am able to help the family out in this way too. :-))
