Can I just tell you how much I love Chick-fil-A? My husband and I were invited to their Customer Appreciation the other day in Tampa, and we were both so impressed by the people, the culture, their vision, and especially by the current COO, Dan Cathy, son of the founder, Truett Cathy.

Of course my husband loved it (pictured here with the famous Chick-fil-A cow), because it was basically all you could eat Chick-fil-A! We had the chicken salad sandwiches, spicy chicken and original chicken sandwiches, fruit cups, fudge brownies, and the yet-to-hit-stores oatmeal chocolate chip cookies (soooo yummy!).

But more than the food were the people. We were SO impressed with the level of character in the room. The staff and owner-operators were fun, energetic, polite, and interested in each person who was there. Dan Cathy talked about being good stewards of all that God has given us, and that means going the second mile for their customers. He said that there’s a lot of competition in the marketplace for the first mile, but the second mile space is very empty. And that’s what he strives to instill in all his Chick-fil-A franchisees who are able to daily touch their customer’s lives.

Needless to say, although we were already Chick-fil-A fans, this meeting solidified it! They gave each person who was there a gift bag with the following:

    Almost every time I go to Chick-Fil-A I receive “second mile” service. From walking around and offering refills to the overall experience, CFA always gives “second mile” service.

    I worked at Chick-Fil-A in highschool and know first hand how fresh there food is. The salads are made fresh everyday, coleslaw and carrot salad are made from scratch, not premade. My family loves everything they sell. I even got a scholarship for college from CFA. I wish there was one closer to me so my kids coyld work there.

    I receieved the “second mile” treatment when I waited for over 5 minutes at the drive through for and order. They gave me coupons for free sandwiches for everyone in the car.

    2. Short story. Chick-fil-a had opened just a few weeks earlier this year. I am a team leader for a Relay for Life (American Cancer Society) team. I contacted the restaurant by phone and asked for a donation for our fundraisers we were holding. The owners told me they could donate a free meal coupon and I told them that would be great. Just think how shocked I was when I went to pick up the coupon and got 5 free meal coupons for the fundraiser.

    We eat at Chick-fil-a because it is a very family friendly restaurant with a lot of healthy options. I love the fact that they are closed on Sundays, it’s nice to see a company state their beliefs.

    There are plenty of times I’ve received above the board service at Chick fil a. One in particular was a time I went through the drive through and had to wait longer than normal for an order of chicken salad because they were in the process of making a fresh batch. Rather than have the line of cars behind me back up, they asked if I wouldn’t mind pulling around to the front doors. I had no problem doing this and was not upset in the least with having to wait an extra few minutes! Not only did they walk my order out to my car for me, but the manager sent out a business card with a free 12 pack of nuggets on it for a future order! Was so shocked but truely impressed with their level of customer service!

    Second Mile Service: I feel like Chick-fil-a makes a habit of second mile service. They bring our meal to us, offer to refill our drinks, take our trash. They also have kids nights on Tuesdays in my town and offer activities for our kids to do at their locations. The kids beg to go!

    We eat there because we LOVE the food, especially the cool wraps & chicken nuggets. Sweet tea is SO good as well. Also, because even though it’s probably not that healthy, it is pretty much the best choice eating out because it is so much healthier than any other fast food place.

    My family and I really enjoy eating at Chick-fil-A. The food is wonderful and I’m so impressed with the way the Cathy family runs their business. It is rare to find a restaurant that closes on Sundays and is operated on Biblical principles. I am happy to support such a company!

    They almost always offer extra services that most places do not. A few would be: place mats for kids to eat off, free little cups of cheerios for kiddos, packets of moist wipes, playground (my son’s favorite), staff who offer help when you have kids & food to juggle by yourself, as well as staff who come around to see if they can refill your drink or anything to help you out.

    My Second Mile Service trip, there have been many, but this morning when I ran through the drive through on the way to the vet (Creekwood Location), I had both baby’s with me. The girls in the drive through made sure to give the dog a treat which is a normal thing for them to do. One of them recommended a dog groomer for the dog who is difficult to say the least at getting her hair done. I was impressed at the caring they show not only to me and my son, but they too see animals as members of the family and make sure they do not get left out.

    We went to Chick-fil-A on Tuesday because it was a good deal. Tuesday is kids night. So buy one adult combo get a kids meal free. And then we had 2 free kids meals because the kids were on honor role. And the kids like the play place.

    Hi. I eat there b/c they have the corner on “kid-friendly.” I have two under six and one six months in the oven. When I go to other places I end up comparing them to Chick-fil-a b/c they won’t have bendy straws for the kids’ drinks or wipes in the bathroom, and they deinitely don’t thank me for getting to serve me! It is, hands-down, the place for families with kids. Also, they go the extra mile like Jesus said to do, by walking around to offer to refill drinks, clean up spills with a smile, put all sorts of toiletries in the bathroom, do fun events, and even save a forgetful mom’s sunglasses that I had just bought and left on the changing table a few days before.     #2 – CFA customer service is ALWAYS wonderful. I do not think I have ever left one of the resturant feeling dissatisfied like so many others. One experience when I felt they went above and beyond was when the line was exceptional long due to a high school being released early. The staff came out front with trays of nuggets, friut and drinks for the customers while they were waiting in line.

    I eat the Chick-Fil-A Sandwiches, but have also been getting into the chicken strips. My son LIVES on the Grilled Chicken Sandwiches. If he could have it everyday, he would!     Honestly, I don’t ever remember having “bad” service at all! At the Chick-Fil-A restaurants near us, someone is going around to the tables to see if customers need anything like a refill, etc. There are always smiling faces there serving. Also, the employees are always so polite. I am always impressed when I am there.

    Everytime we go there we received second mile service. They go out of their way to make sure we have a great time. My daughter dropped her cup and it spilled everywhere and she felt so bad. They made sure she knew it was no big deal and it was cleaned up quickly and she had a new cup of that delicious fruit punch!

    I need to adjust my glasses or something…I thought it asked what do I eat at chick fil a.
    I guess this will be included with my bonus entry of the second mile.
    First the food is great, and healthy. For this reason, this is the only chicken sandwich my son will eat for fast food. I love their shakes, they can be a meal in themselves.
    The service is just unmatched! For physical reasons, I need to have my order placed in one of the salad “handled” bags. I do not even have to ask for them to do that anymore, they automatically do it for me. The night before last, I was awaiting my son’s grilled chicken sandwiches, one of the gals knew that the order was mine when it came up. (wonder if I go there too much LOL)
    I know you said short, but have to give my Chick-Fil-A in Port Orange a shout out 1. for always getting my orders right! 2. For all the community work they do all year (especially remember it from when my son played HS Football) 3. They have the coolest thing setup for parents, where they can order their food through the drive through, and it will be ready when they get inside the restaurant with the kids. This way they are not at the counter with the kids trying to order and keep track of them at the same time. Wish that was around when my son was small! Sorry so long, but one of our favorite places!!!

    I was picking up multiple orders for other co-workers, there was a lot of food and the cashier person was so sweet. He asked if I wanted a bigger bag to carry all the food I said sure and he informed me he was trying to pack it all neatly for me. Usually I would assume they would have just handed me the bag and I do it myself but he insisted and it was nice because I was already overwhelmed with getting everyone’s order and change right.

    Bonus Entry: I had my 6 year old with me and a very fussy 6 month old. I was struggling at the mall to carry our food and calm the baby down. The associate carried my food to the table for me and helped my 6 year old open his drink at the table. Ever since, she always remembers my Son and he thinks it is so special.     My sister was visiting me here in FL to celebrate her kidney transplant and she had never been to Chic Fil A, so I took her. When we were asked if we had ever been to CFA, she said “No”, OMG they treated her like a Queen. They couldn’t do enough for us. Now everytime she comes to visit we have to go to CFA and get (well if they are in season) the Peach Shakes, and they still remember my sister. It was a great day and great memory. Love CFA……

    I’ve really only seen this once… there was a girl actually walking around to all the customers eating in Chick-fil-a, including us, getting refills, etc. I thought that was really going the extra mile.

    My family loves Chick-fil-a. We eat there weekly. It is the perfect fast food restaurant. The food is great, the stores are clean, the employees are friendly. The best reason is that their stores are closed on Sundays, so the employees can go to church.

    Chik-fil-a has the best service and always goes the second mile. I would say the most recent example was when my 4 year old tried the new grilled chicken nuggets. She can be very picky and decided she did not like them (she has since changed her mind and loves them now). I went up to the register to order her a new set of regular nuggets. When I mentioned that my daughter didn’t like the other ones, he didn’tcharge me for the nuggets. It is times like those that I absolutly love them. Besides that they always carry my food to my table without being asked, a true blessing when toting a 6 month old along. Last month they had daddy- daughter date night and my little girl just adored it. They served them on real plates, gave all the girls flowers and baloons. She had a blast! Also my daughter loves that they let you trade in the toy in the kids meal for a small ice cream. She thinks that is the greatest!

    Chick-Fil-A employees always go the “second mile”: Greeting, making sure your drinks are refilled, providing board games, and creating a warm family experience. It’s a place to come and have great food and know that they value you as a customer. I also appreciate that they have School Night fundraisers. They are a great friend to the community.

    I have had the most experience in the drive thru. Unlike many other place that charge you extra for a little more sauce, they gladly give you more and with a smile! Also, love the special nights for the kiddos.

    I eat chic fil a because it is my absolute favorite restaurant! I love everything on their menu! My favorite is chicken nuggets, waffle fries and sweet tea! Chic fil a was my first job when I was 15 years old and I have loved it ever since! I am now 45. Over the years, I have volunteered at win shape camps which are ran by chic fil a and even met Mr. Cathy a few times. Everything about chic fil a, the Winshape organization and the Cathy family reflects their value and faith!     2nd-great memory. Chick fil is always one of the first places to donate donations for school fundraisers. one time an employee walked outside with an umbrella so my baby and I could come inside without getting wet. 🙂

    The student group that I’m a part of was able to hold a “sprit night” at a local stand-alone Chick-fil-A as a fund raisers. I love how they give nonprofits a chance to raise money. It certainly made things easier on us.

    1. My daughter and I love Chick-fil-a. The chicken is so delicious and it is always fresh!!! The food is a great value and the service is outstanding. IF I tell her about this post, she will be begging me to take her asap.

    2. About a year ago, I was in Gainsville on the way to Shands Hospital for an appointment for my daughter. I was in a crabby mood because it was a long drive and I was nervous about the appointment. We stopped at Chick-Fil-a for lunch on the way and the food and service were so good it made me relaxed! IT really turned our day around.

My name is Liza and I began my money-saving journey in the Spring of 2009 as a way to stretch a limited household income. I had lost my job and my hubby was self-employed.
