March was another great month of spending and saving! Somewhere during this past month I realized that I wasn’t shopping at Walgreens and CVS!! I’ve been posting their deals like a mad woman but I’ve let *gasp* a $5 ECB and a $2 RR expire!! That’s throwing away money!! But, couponing is supposed to be fun. So, I’ve focused mainly on grocery shopping at my favorite store 🙂 and the occasional side trip elsewhere. Below are my stats for the month of March:
Spent: $85.08 Saved: $1,056.30 Saved: 95.5%How did you do this month?? Many of you have asked me for the equation I use to figure out savings… Below is how I calculate % saved (Beware, there is probably an easier calculation, but my mind works like a spreadsheet which isn’t always the easiest to explain…)
Amount Spent + Amount Saved = Total Value of purchase
Amount Spent/Total Value = a decimal (we’ll call the decimal “A”)
Multiply A x 100 = % Spent of total items purchased
100 – % Spent = % Saved of total items purchased

This is my favorite post of the week. his post motivates me to continue saving and to continue typing away on this blog each day! I LOVE to see how everyone is saving – what everyone is buying and how much money everyone is saving! Remember that there is no “right way” to save. We all have different goals, priorities, etc. In my opinion, as long as AddictedtoSaving.com is helping you save more money today than you saved yesterday, then we are all experiencing success! Feel free to email me photos of your success stories – make sure to tell me where you shopped, how much you spend and how much you saved! Now.. let’s begin with the Photo Show and Tells!!
Carmen bought everything in the picture above at Walgreens. She spent $89.45, Saved $95.99 AND received $37RRs!! Carmen is a couponing newbie so imagine the damage she will do once she really gets into this!! Great job!
Carmen also sent in the picture above. This is from her CVS shopping trip. She was able to score a ton of toiletries and most importantly (to me :)) Starbucks Frappucinnos!! Carmen spent $48.46, saved $71.82 and received $15 ECBs!! This is 72.2% savings when you factor in the ECBs she received! Way to go Carmen!
The photo above was taken by Kelly after she hit up Walgreens. Kelly is what I would call an expert Addicted to Saving shopper 🙂 She also bought another Nestle bar as well as two Ring Pops that are not pictured. Kelly started with $5RR. Used one printable for $3 off 2 Dove Deodorants, 1 mailer coupon for $1.50 off men’s body wash, 1 coupon from yesterday’s RP insert for $1.00 off men’s body wash, 2 $3.00 coupons for Dulcolax Balance, 1 coupon for b1g1 Crunch Bars, 1 printable coupon for $1.00 off Dentek, $1.50 off the Dove Conditioner in yesterday’s RP. I did this over three trips and spent a total of $7.00 and change!! And, to make this better, Kelly now has $12 in RR to use next time!! Go HERE to see this week’s Walgreens ad/coupon matchups! GREAT job Kelly!!
America emailed me the photo above. America lives in the Orlando area and she has only been couponing for about a month. She bought everything in the pic above at Publix, spent $54 and saved $73.94!! This is 57.8% savings on tons of groceries!! Great job America – keep the photos coming – I can’t wait to see how you do in the future!!
Terri emailed me the picture above. This was the first time Terri took a picture of her groceries, but I bet it won’t be the last!! Terri spent $28.75 on $155.19 worth of groceris!! This is 81.5% savings on a ton of groceries!!! I love how she has a little bit of everything – fruit, yogurt, milk, cereal, vitamins, cold medicine, chips, etc etc! Terri did better than me this week 🙂 Amazing job Terri!!
Christi emailed me the photo show and tell above after her Publix shopping trip. Christi spent $66.01 and Saved 86.72. This is 57% savings!! Awesome job Christi – I’m have such fun watching you get better and better each week!!
Kim is giving me a run for my money. Kim has been couponing for about 3 weeks now (I think?). Kim emailed the pic above and spent $75.56 on $299.81 worth of groceries. Amazing!! This is 75% savings and just look at all the groceries Kim got for $75!!! Wow.
Gery emailed me the picture above after having spending $38.14 and saving $64.46 at Publix! Gery asked what I thought? I am thinking that saving 63% is AWESOME! Great job Gery =)
