Hi, I’ve tried this in the past and it’s “OK!” I live in Tampa and deal with yellow (deer) flies and mosquitos! if you want something really really really good, I recommend Thermacell. It’s a bit expensive and hard to find coupons, but it works! My husband is a hunter and he uses it all the time.
We have tried these as well. They don’t seem to work when you are walking around. They work ok when you are standing still. I agree with Jennifer about the Thermacell.
FYI-These are to be used when sitting in one place such as fishing or camping. It actually builds a barrier around you within a certain amount of time. Every time you move it has to rebuild the barrier. Unfortunately not good for evening walks or busy little kids. The package says all of this, however, if I remember right it says it on the inside of the package. Also the refills only last a short time and you have to keep purchasing refill packages. Say you use it for camping, don’t expect for the repellent to still be there for your next event. Don’t mean to give a negative review, however, I just felt you would want to be informed. Wish I was before purchasing this. 😛
Thank you guys for commenting on this. I was actually looking at these to use when we go to the dog park after work every night. The best park in our area has mosquitos big enough to carry off a small child! I was hoping to find something like this instead of having to use spray. But it looks like spray it is! Thanks so much, now I know these won’t work for what I was intending.
