Walmart Black Friday Ad Released

Walmart has just published their Black Friday Ad online if you want to check it out. We’re now 18 days away from the now infamous “Most Shopped Day of the Year,” and I will have a special Black Friday/Cyber Monday page hopefully up this weekend (working on it now – it’s a lot of work!) 🙂

Most of you know I’m totally a Cyber Monday girl, so I have some special stuff planned to give you the best Cyber Monday deals as they come down the pike as well, so stay tuned!

The most notable thing about the Walmart Black Friday Ad is that they will have two events going on during Thanksgiving evening:

Event #1 – Starts at 8 p.m. on November 22 and includes lots of games, movies, bikes, and children’s toys.

Event #2 – Starts at 10 p.m. on November 22 and focuses primarily on electronics. Event #2 also has a special 1 Hour In-Stock Guarantee on certain items, which means if the item is out of stock between the hours of 10 p.m. – 11 p.m., then you can get a Guarantee Card for that item at the same price and Walmart’s promise is that it will be shipped to your store before Christmas. **There is only one Guarantee Card allowed per customer.

Save Money on Black Friday and the Holidays with #RetailMeNot

Before you know it, the holiday shopping season will be in full force.  As if it’s not enough to be bombarded by the constant advertising we see all around us – TV, radio, Spotify, Pandora, billboards, bumper stickers, pop ups, T-shirts, guys waving signs while we drive – the days leading up to Christmas can be just downright over-the-top.

Some of this is to be expected.  We need stuff.   Stores have it.  Advertisers connect us. But we need to be smart with our shopping.  We need to make sure we’re getting the best bang for our buck when we see all the ads this shopping season.

So here are a couple of tips, and a special thanks to the Pumpkin-Headed Turkey Claus, the King of OctoNovemCember.  You’re curious now, aren’t you!

1)      Make a budget:  This is a ‘duh,’ kind of tip, but seriously, how many of us actually do it?  If $100 is all you can spend on the family, then that’s your number.  Fortunately we have the Pumpkin-Headed Turkey Claus (that’s him, to the right) to give us daily discounts and coupon codes during the OctoNovemCember shopping season.  These discounts, stored at RetailMeNot.com, can help us save big at all the major stores we shop at.
