Well, it is week number two of me (Jeff, aka “hubby”) running Addicted to Saving and doing the Publix shopping trip and Photo Show & Tell by myself. For those of you who don’t know, my wife Liza is currently with our son in Ethiopia, waiting for him to clear US Embassy so she can bring him home. I’ve been instructed to give you all an update, which I hope to do this weekend. Let’s just say that she’s getting adjusted to a third world country and being a mom. I sure hope to have them both home soon.
The Publix trip today was a good one, but I would’ve done a couple of things differently in hindsight. I didn’t mean to buy the $5.99 Paper Mate pencils, but the $1.99 Paper Mate pens. That would’ve shaved $4.00 off my total. I probably wouldn’t have bought the two Crayola Markers and the three Crayola crayons, just because I got the markers last week. But I had that $1.00 off Target coupon burning a hole in a coupon folder, so I used it. You’ll notice I didn’t have any coupon for the Quilted Northern, but $2.12 per 6 pk after the Ibotta submission is still a pretty good deal.
The bummer of this week is that the Mentos gum is just $1.00, and there’s a $1/1 in the past week’s SS insert. We get four papers but two of my inserts were missing half the inserts, including the parts with the Mentos coupon! Oh well.
