Well, you can see from my picture above that I had an overflowing grocery cart today during my Publix shopping trip. Since we spent less than $3.00 on $67.00 worth of groceries last week (go HERE to see last week’s Photo Show and Tell), I gave myself a little leeway to spend a bit more than I normally like. And, when I saw this huge rack of Spareribs priced at $1.99/lb, I had to get them – even though I knew that would increase my out of pocket spending. But, I have an amazing barbecue spare ribs crock pot recipe that I haven’t made in ages so I forsee a crock pot meal occurring early next week in my household. (A huge plea goes out to my husband, who I know is reading this, to cut the ribs for me :))
I also stumbled upon bags of California Sun Dried Tomatoes on sale for $1.00 each! This is a great price – even without a coupon! Oh – and I did encounter a small problem using the Free Oikos Greek Yogurt coupons from Parade Magazine. The coupons state Free Dannon Oikos Yogurt but my Publix had Stonyfield Oikos Yogurt. And while the Stonyfield Oikos yogurt looks 100% like the pictured “free coupon” and while the fine print mentions both Dannon and Stonyfield, I wasn’t able to use the coupon. This wasn’t a big deal to me but I wanted to give all of you a head’s up on this. (The coupon expires 9/4/11.)
