Teresa emailed me this picture yesterday of her Publix shopping trip on Thursday. She started couponing just four months ago. She is a stay at home mom of four little ones. Her goal? Getting her monthly grocery bill and eating out for her family of six to $350 a month. And she’s doing it! Very impressive Teresa! Thanks for sharing your success.

Hi Everyone! It’s Liza’s friend, Kelly. As you probably read last week, Liza is away and I’ve been filling in for her while she’s been gone. I have to tell you, this is a BIG job and I have a whole new respect for what she does. She really makes my shopping trip so much easier to plan, saving me a ton of time each week and a ton of money! Photo Show and Tell – Publix 3/18/11

Whew! This week flew by! Made a very quick Publix run this morning. I had some coupons expiring 3/31 that I wanted to use and there were a couple sales items I wanted to stock up on! I bought four of the Philadelphia Cooking Cremes. I haven’t tried them yet so will be interested to see how I like them! Have you tried them yet? I also bought another box of Mrs. T’s Pierogies because they are one of my new favorite quick fix meals! (P.S. I had such fun chatting with so many of you on Addicted to Saving’s Facebook page about how you all prepare your Pierogies! The Italian in me has no concept of Pierogies so I learned a lot from all of you! :)) I definitely wasn’t on my “A Game” today though because as I was going through my envelope of coupons while shopping in Publix, I realized the $0.75 off Colgate coupons and the $0.55 off Lay’s coupons were sitting at home on my piano bench right where I left them after cutting them! So, I wasn’t able to stock up on Colgate and get a couple of bags of chips like I planned. I know a lot of you purchase similar items to me so make sure you take advantage of the Colgate deal – even if you don’t use Colgate toothpaste you will only spend $0.25 per tube of toothpaste and this would be awesome to donate or give away. Also – there is a great deal on fresh green beans, zucchini and yellow squash which I would highly recommend you take advantage of!

I also wanted to post a raincheck lesson.. If you use a rain check, make sure your cashier does not start ringing through the items you are purchasing with your rain check until you give him/her your rain check. My cashier started ringing the dog treats through and then had to cancel those treats before ringing them up a different way using the rain check. And then when I got into my car, I realized I was overcharged because two of the bags were not cancelled.. Long story short, I had to go to customer service to get reimbursed. Not a big deal but it definitely made my quick shopping trip not as quick as it could have been!

I also wanted to give all of you a head’s up that my husband and I will be away for a couple of weeks. Don’t worry – nothing is wrong – everyone is healthy and well. We will actually get to see his sister who is currently a missionary/teacher in Africa. She is leaving Africa for a short time so we are excited to get caught up with her a bit. So, here is what will happen while I am away. My friend Kelly will be helping me out. She will post all of the weekly coupon matchups that you have come to expect. You shouldn’t see any differences in the ads and matchups. She will also post a few great deals each day. The only difference is that she will not be working 10+ hours a day like I do. 🙂 If you find deals, coupons, coupon booklets, etc etc that you think should be posted, please email them to addictedtosaving at hotmail.com (all one word – use the @ sign instead of how I typed out “at”). You never know, Kelly may post a few of your deals! I will be back April 6th and I will start my time back with a couple of great giveaways.. want a sneak peek.. I had yet another fun Publix trip today. After taking last week off because I was sick, I felt a bit out of sync shopping today. I know you all probably think that I go to Publix every day, but in reality I usually only shop at Publix once a week (unless it is an Italian Days sale and in that case I go every day ;)). I was chatting with some of you on Addicted to Saving’s Facebook page last night asking what you all were going to buy. At the time, I wasn’t seeing many outstanding sales items but now that I see what I was able to purchase, I think it is a pretty good Publix sales week! For all of you with the Winn Dixie store coupons, you are going to do amazing this week. I couldn’t find the booklets so I wasn’t working with those awesome coupons, but I still did great!

I did the gas card deal but I am not including the amount of money I spent on the card in my totals since a gas card isn’t grocery related. I highly recommend you take advantage of the gas card deal if you can afford it. In this week’s sales flyer is a $10.00 off $50.00 gas card when you spend $25.00 or more coupon. So, as long as you spend $25.00, you can get a $50.00 gas card for only $40.00! And with the rising gas prices this is an awesome way to save a little on your gas!

So you may recall that last night I posted that I wasn’t going to be shopping this week. I had told you how my stockpile was overflowing and that since I was sick I was going to take the week off. Well, I did take the week off, but my husband refused to let all of you down! So, he was a gem and last night did a quick Publix run. I’m still not thrilled with this week’s sales but as you can see, my hubby really took advantage of the Uncle Ben’s deal! 🙂

So – the end of the week is here and I haven’t gone shopping. I think last year, out of the entire year, I skipped out on two week’s worth of shopping and one of those two weeks my husband shopped for me. Well, this week has been one of those long weeks where I’ve been fighting the flu and then at the same time juggling what seems like 100 balls. My husband was going to go shopping tonight for me but I told him we would take the week off. We more than indulged in the Italian Days sales the past two weeks and my stockpile is overflowing so we need literally nothing. Top that off with a shipment of meat I received on my doorstep today from Kansas City Steaks (used Groupons) so I have enough beef, ham and chicken stockpiled away to last a good 3 months. I have what I thought was the largest freezer ever and it is stocked so I’m okay taking the week off! And, truthfully, there are not a lot of sales this week at Publix that are exciting to me. Are there any sales you are looking forward to? Any deals that you think are noteworthy? Would love to hear!

The photo above shows $207.00 worth of groceries that was purchased for $39.50!! I’m seeing fresh meat, produce, bread, milk and even kleenex. Awesome!

Everything in the photo above was purchased for $10.38! Gotta Love Publix Italian Days! (Am I the only one missing this sale already?)

The picture above includes $193 worth of groceries that were purchased for $20.38! Lots of crackers, canned foods, soda and some fresh produce and juice! Love it!

Everything in the picture above cost $6.15 after coupons and sales!! Aren’t the Kleenex containers so cute?

The picture above is Part Two for one of my favorite readers (I also saw her while doing my weekly grocery trip so I have a special place in my heart for her ;)). She bought everything in Part One and Part Two AND 8 bags of Doritos for $20.84!! She spent $20.84 on $245.00 worth of groceries including meat, produce, cleaning supplies, and so much more. Great job!
