Are you all staying warm? Florida got chilly this week! I have been enjoying keeping the windows open and letting fresh air in, but it got too cold the past few days! Starting to feel like Christmas! I’m excited for next week’s Publix sale. Usually the week of Christmas, there is a great sale (just like the week of Thanksgiving). I stocked up on so many necessities before Thanksgiving that I don’t need much. But I’m hoping to see some great prices on meats and baking ingredients like butter, flour, etc!

This week I wasn’t overly impressed with the Publix sale. Until I started putting together my shopping list. It was at that point where I realized it was actually a really good week to shop! I’ve gone WAY over budget this week on groceries. Tomorrow, my friend and I are going to put together 40 slow cooker freezer meals. She’s pregnant and due to deliver next week and she will then have three kiddos under the age of 3.5. So she’s going to need easy meals! She’s going to take 20 meals and I’m going to take 20 meals. I bought all of the ingredients today at Sam’s club and spent almost $300. (I should add that we are splitting the cost and it breaks down to a little under $150 per person for 20 meals each). It kind of hurt to spend all of the money that I spent. Ok. So it hurt. A lot. And then to spend almost $70 at Publix… eek. I’m consoling myself telling myself that I bought two boxes of diapers, a gallon of organic milk and a dozen cage free eggs AND that after tomorrow, I’ll have a freezer stocked with meals.. but still. I spent a lot of money today. eek.

For today’s Publix shopping trip, I really wanted to take advantage of the Huggies Diapers deal (the $3.50/1 coupons have been burning a hole in my pocket and they expire tomorrow) and I really wanted to take advantage of the BOGO EVOO deal. We go through a lot of olive oil in this house! I splurged on Margaritaville coconut shrimp. I figure it will be an easy New Year’s Eve meal. 🙂
