I’m really starting to scour the internet for holiday deals and I thought I would ask all of you what types of deals you looking for? Are there any websites you really like to shop on? Are there any particular items that you really want to get a good deal on this year? Let me know! I want to focus on the deals that interest all of you the most so please speak your mind! 🙂

Thank you to everyone who came last night to my Addicted to Saving 101 class! I was beyond humbled by the number of you who showed up – we had over 150 people! It was great to meet so many of you and to put faces with your names. 🙂 Thank you as well for your generosity with the non-perishables you donated. I was not expecting to have two grocery carts overflowing with food. So awesome. I will send all of you an email with all of the website links we spoke about in an hour or so. Again, thank you all for attending! I had a great time and I hope you all learned something new!
**Update– You should receive your email from me at (or after) 1 pm EST today. If you don’t receive it, check your junk email. If you don’t see an email there, please shoot an email to me at addicted to saving at hotmail dot com (all one word) with your email address. Some of the email addresses were difficult for me to read so I may have typed it out incorrectly! 🙂

If you’ve been couponing for a while now, one thing you’re probably very aware of is how big your stockpile is growing.  Well, it’s time to put that stockpile of non-perishables to good use! The church where we attend, Calvary Baptist – corner of McMullen Booth and Drew in Clearwater – has partnered with Eisenhower Elementary to participate in the Warren Backpack Program, a local charity that provides meals for at-risk kids whose only meal of the day comes when they’re at school.  We were shocked to find out that 85 kids at this school are actually considered “homeless” – either living in a car or with a relative because their families have lost their homes!
When Pat Marder, Director of Ministries and Missions at our church, heard these statistics, she immediately committed to adopting all 85 students, and has pledged to help another 50 who are on the waiting list. It costs roughly $4 a week to feed one child, around $200 for the year – that’s it! I know with my stockpile and savings this year, I can help a lot of children by myself. But even better, I know YOU all can really make a difference with your stockpiles!
I’ve committed to helping these children and I need your help.  On November 20th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., we will be setting up shop at Calvary Baptist Church, 110 N. McMullen Booth Rd, Clearwater, FL, 33759, to take in all of your non-perishable food items. We will pick up your donations at the circle drive located at the high school entrance of Calvary.  Make sure that your food items have not expired. We will accept ANY non-perishables, toiletries, pet food, etc etc. However, we are in particular need of the following items:
Entrée/Protein Items (all canned)
Chef Boyardee meal
Cans of any type of hearty soup
Baked Beans
Cans of chili and beans
Vegetable (all canned)
Green Beans
Corn
Peas
Fruit (canned or plastic containers)
Mandarin oranges
Pear halves
Fruit salad
Pineapple chunks
Boxes of raisins
If you don’t live in the Tampa area and would like to still help, please send all donations to the above address, c/o PAT MARDER, DIRECTOR OF MINISTRIES AND MISSIONS. Or – if you live north of Pinellas county and would like to donate food, please contact me. I would be willing to meet you in Pasco county to gather your donations.
I can’t think of a better way to bless others the way that we’ve been blessed through saving money on our grocery bills!

Hey Everyone – in an effort to answer many emails I have received regarding the daily newsletter I send out, I am going to post this so that everyone is on the same page  Thank you to everyone who have subscribed to Addicted to Saving’s daily newsletter! I have been so humbled by the amount of people that have already subscribed and are still subscribing on a daily basis!Â
Now to make sure all of us are on the same page:
1) The daily email is 95% of the time sent out every day at 4 pm EST. The other 5% of the time it is sent out later. This is all in the hands of the web company I use to send the emails out and is out of my control. But, typically, you should see an email from Addicted to Saving in your inbox every day at 4pm.
2) The information included in the email is from the prior 24 hours. This means that every post that I have made since 4:01 pm EST the day before through 3:59 pm EST the day the email is sent is included in the email. Many of you have posted and written me because a deal may be over by the time you get the email. As you all know, deals come and go. I post each deal as soon as I am able to and my hope is that they are still available by the time Addicted to Saving’s email is sent out. However, it is out of my control when the deals are over. I try to update the posts when deals expire but sometimes I can not get to it. I recommend that you read the comments on each post because often other readers will update the post once deals have expired.
3) If you are concerned about missing out on deals then I recommend you check in to my website throughout the day and/or “like” Addicted to Saving on Facebook. (go HERE) That will insure that you see up-to-the minute postings of deals.Â
4) If you haven’t subscribed to the daily email and would like to, on the top right of Addicted to Saving’s homepage, you can see the link to subscribe. Fill in your info and voila, you will receive an email tomorrow.
5)Â If you use a feedburner program like Google Reader, go HERE to subscribe to Addicted to Saving’s RSS feeds and you will receive up-to-the minute updates in your feedburner.
6)Â If you use Twitter, follow Addicted to Saving on Twitter (under “SavingAddict”) HERE
Thanks again to all of you for being loyal readers! You are all the best!
