Phew. I am glad October is over. It seemed like a very long month for us. For the first time since I started this website, I haven’t been able to fully keep track of my spending and saving. I have all of the receipts for my grocery trips in the month of October but I don’t have all of our drugstore receipts.. We had quite a few unexpected drugstore purchases that involved no ECBs, no coupons, etc etc. I sent my husband on quite a few CVS runs early in October.. In fact, I remember one day telling him that I really wanted Starburst Jellybeans and that I didn’t care what the price was or if he used coupons. He came back with two glorious bags of Jellybeans which I managed to finish off in a matter of 4 or 5 days. The thing about couponing is that we will all have unexpected medical expenses some of which are necessities and some of which are not (ahem, my jellybeans). And we will all run into instances where we don’t have coupons to use or *gasp* we choose to go out on a limb and not use coupons! And that is okay! I am going to estimate really high on the drugstore purchases so that my numbers are as close to accurate as possible. (Yes, I am one of those people who always err on the side of caution… 😉
Despite October seeming to be an endless month for me, it was a good month for freebies and deals! I particularly enjoyed the FREE Cascadian Farm Cereal, the FREE Pledge Wipes (I have no excuse for having dust in my house now), the FREE Glade Plugins, the FREE Kraft Deluxe Mac & Cheese and all of the items I bought to receive the P&G Cooking Up Early Detection Breast Cancer Kitchenware Rebate Set. **Thanks everyone for all of your coupon donations the past few months!! I am currently accepting October expired coupons. I will need all October expired coupons by November 10th**
By now you should know that I send out expired coupons to a military base in Italy every month. I don’t know about you, but every month, I have TONS of expired coupons that I typically throw away. I did some research online and found that I can send my expired coupons to military families overseas and they will use the coupons at their commissary and PX or BX (these are basically department stores that sell all non-food items).
Since I started saving money using coupons over a year ago now, I have been blessed ten-fold. My spending on groceries has decreased drastically and I now have more food, toiletries, etc than I would have ever imagined. I want to bless others now. So, instead of throwing away my expired coupons, I will send them to an overseas military base once a month. Would you like to help? If you are interested in participating with me, I would love for you to send me your expired coupons. Every month I will post a reminder and will give all of you 7 days to gather your expireds and mail them to me. Then, once I receive all of your coupons, I will ship them out to a military base.
Below are the requirements if you are interested in helping:
1) Mail your expired coupons to: Addicted to Saving, PMB 105, 8348 Little Rd, New Port Richey, FL 34654
2) Send me all coupons that expired ON or AFTER October 1st. (Commissaries will accept older expireds, but I’m only going to send one month old coupons since I will do this once a month)
3) Do not send me printable coupons and do not send store coupons (i.e. Target, Publix, Walgreens etc) because commissaries overseas will not accept them.
4) Please Please Please cut your coupons out and then separate your coupons into two categories Food & Nonfood. If you mail all of your coupons to me in one envelope, use an elastic or paperclip to keep the two categories separated. Food is considered anything eaten by humans.. Food is also considered gum. Nonfood is toiletries, dogfood or catfood (since it’s not consumed by humans), vitamins, medicine, etc.
That’s it! I will do the rest of the work! I need all of your coupons in my hand by November 10th!

You all have forced me to crash the servers yet again. It is a great problem to have and tonight around 10 pm EST, my website server will be upgraded. Once the changes are complete, you will not notice anything different. During the server upgrade, however, you may see some funky stuff going on.
