Walgreens has Purex detergent (50 oz, 32 load size) priced at $5.99 and right now they have a Mega Saver Sale going on (unadvertised in this week’s ad) where the Purex detergent is B1G1.  There is a Buy One Get One Purex coupon in 2/21/10 RP (Feb. 21st’s Red Plum insert).  If you use one B1G1 coupon on two bottles, you should be able to get both bottles for FREE!! 

***I read about this deal on the blogs earlier today and wanted to test it out before posting it.  Purex is 50 oz is on sale B1G1 at my local Walgreens stores.  However, my Walgreens stores were hit or miss as to whether or not they would accept the B1G1 coupon with the sale.  I went to five Walgreens.  Yes five.  (All within a 10 mile radius so I didn’t drive too far…)  Of the five, one didn’t have Purex in stock.  Two stores didn’t accept B1G1 coupons with a B1G1 sale.  Two stores did accept the coupons and I was able to score free laundry detergent.

It is up to you whether or not you should try this deal.  For me, it was worth it.  I was able to score 12 bottles free (6 bottles at each store) and pay only tax on them.  However, I do want to warn you in advance that this may be a headache and a bit frustrating because in my opinion, Walgreens does not have a consistent coupon policy.  I wanted to chance getting frustrated because I wanted to post first hand what happened and I also know that 12 bottles of free detergent will last me a long long time.
