Hey you guys – I hate to write this blog post because I have been such a huge fan and promoter of Zaycon since their inception almost 10 years ago. When they started their company, the owners of Zaycon actually drove a tractor trailer truck to my house to deliver us a box of 40 pounds of chicken so we could try it out before talking about it on my blog. Ever since then, I’ve relied on Zaycon for all of our chicken and ground beef. I know many of you have too. We actually have four pending orders going on right now (2 chicken orders, one ground beef and one shrimp).
Yesterday, Zaycon released a message on their website stating, “It is with deep regret that we inform you that as of June 25th, we are suspending business operations.” If you try to go to your account, you will be unable to. Their website is now just one page giving the message about the suspension.
The way the verbiage is written, it’s unable to tell if Zaycon Fresh is going out of business or if they are in fact just suspending business for a short time. I’ve read reports of some Zaycon drivers continuing to deliver meat as recent as today. That said, there are no promises their business will be up and running again. What worries me the most is that we are unable to get to our account pages and their customer support page has disappeared too. For all of you who have had money withdrawn on pending orders, I recommend you contact your bank and credit card companies and dispute the charges. Depending on your bank or credit card, it may take anywhere from 30 to 90 days to get your money back. Make sure you have your bank or credit card statement in front of you showing you when the charges occurred. You can also try emailing them at [email protected] although I can’t promise the email will go through or that they will read it.
I’m really disappointed to have to write this post. Our family has really enjoyed using Zaycon for almost 10 years now. I’m hopeful they will be able to fix their issues and get their business up and running again. In the meantime, if I were you, I would contact your bank and credit card companies and dispute the charges. Get your money back and then we will wait to see if they reopen.
