I really wanted to put together a CHEAP, easy and tasty side dish for this Sunday’s Super Bowl party. After a bit ofresearch and concocting, I was able to put together a very affordable dip utilizing, Velveeta, Ro*Tel, Cheese and Ground Beef. YUM!
This photo is courtesy of foodnetwork.comIngredients Needed: 1 lb. (16 oz.) VELVEETA Pasteurized Prepared Cheese Product, cubed |
1 can (10 oz.) RO*TEL Diced Tomatoes & Green Chilies |
1 cup KRAFT Shredded Low-Moisture Part-Skim Mozzarella Cheese |
1/2 lb. ground chuck, cooked, drained
1/2 t Garlic
1/2 t Black Pepper
1/2 t Red Pepper
Salt
Preparation: Brown ground beef adding garlic, black pepper, red pepper and salt as needed. In a crock pot (on HIGH setting), place cheese cubes, undrained RO*TEL tomatoes, shredded Mozzarella and browned beef in crockpot. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking and burning on bottom. Once heated through and fully melted, serve with chips, veggies, etc!Cost for Ingredients using Publix’s Weekly Ad: Velveeta: $0.92 RO*TEL: $0.03 (this is from last week’s Publix sale) KRAFT Cheese: $1.00 1/2 lb Ground Chuck: $0.90 Total out of pocket: $2.85 **To make this spicier, use RO*TEL Hot Tomatoes, use Hot Pepper with the ground beef, add Chili peppers, etc etc! |
