I have a random tip of the day for you! If you haven’t already, I want you to create a new email address. Create an email address to use specifically for couponing. You can create free email acocunts using hotmail.com, gmail.com, yahoo.com, etc etc.
Here’s why: As you begin couponing and taking advantage of printable coupons, free samples, online giveaways, etc etc, you will be asked for your email address. Sometimes you won’t receive any emails from the company asking, but most often, you will be sent advertisements, deals, random facts and sometimes plain old spam. To make sure that you don’t receive all of these emails clogging up your primary email account, use your couponing email address every time you are asked for it and then check your couponing email account a few times a week to make sure you stay on top of any deals or coupons that the companies send you! For all of you who are newbies, with time, as you take advantage of online deals and freebies, you will start to receive lots and lots of emails so if you start a couponing email address now, you will reap the benefits of keeping your personal emails in one account and your couponing emails in a second account.

This is a great idea if you get a lot of personal mail but I’ve found that if I try to keep track of 2 email accounts (or more) I will let them go to long without checking and then not go through all the mail anyway so I would still miss out on deals that are time sensitive. I also do sweepstakes and with the blogger ones you only have a limited time to respond. So, I’ve found it’s easier to make ‘labels’ in Gmail, sometimes they get a little messed up when some of them will have a word contained in my label somewhere in the email but it works itself out because of course I want to know if an email contains a ‘sweepstake’ or a ‘coupon’ or a ‘special offer’. These are only a few examples. HTH 🙂
Charity, That is an even better idea. I agree with what you said about 2+ email accounts, unless you have tons of time on your hands it is hard to manage
