If It says B1G1 Why don’t you have to buy the first one . I do not understand Thanks
carmen says
Cathy,
I think it works like this. When something is B1G1 at the store, the store is paying for one and you are paying for one. when you have a b1g1 man q on top of that, the manu. says “hey, I’ll pay for one”. so if you step out of the picture and let the manu. pay for one and the store pay for one, you get both for free and everyone is happy. I hope this makes sense.
Cathy Singer says
Thanks I understand better now God Bless Cathy
Cathy Singer says
I just call CVS and they said he give you only one free and they put in the amount in the space . I read the Qit says in that space Max. value .79 . I still don’t get it Thanks Cathy
Liza says
Cathy – first did you get the email I sent you? I responded to the email you sent me earlier this morning with pretty much the same information as what Carmen said.
Help me understand what you are confused on. Here is how it works with a B1G1 sale. For Floridians, when there is a B1G1 sale, we will pay for one item and the second item will be free. Now, if we use a B1G1 coupon, that coupon is covering the cost of the one item that we would have had to pay for. With the M&Ms deal, CVS has them B1G1. There is the B1G1 coupon from this Sunday’s paper. The coupon covers the cost of a bag up to $0.79. So, when you are at the register, bring two bags, use one B1G1 coupon, the cashier will write in $0.79 on the coupon and take off $0.79 from your total owed. So, you should end up paying $0.05 per bag.
Cathy Singer says
Thanks I am so sorry I am so slow . Thanks for having spelled it out . I need that . You are so kind . Thanks so much God Bless Cathy
Michelle says
Do you need your CVS Card to get the B1G1 store discount?
Just checking.
cindy says
If you have a card but dont have it with you, they can look it up from your phone number.
Michelle says
Oops, I guess I’m asking if that is how that are limiting the deal to 6 stayfree. I actually got 10 papers this week & would like to be able to really stock up, but if the card is needed, then I really would only be able to get 6. Just checking! LOL
Andrea says
These coupon were not in my st. petes times. Next time, should I buy the tampa tribune instead? I went through the paper at the store and thought it had all of the inserts. Guess not because these were not in there.
Liza says
Hi Andrea! I always check both the St Pete Times & the Tampa Tribune to see which paper has the correct inserts. For the past 3 mths or so, the St Pete Times has notoriously left out inserts so I’ve been buying the Tribune..
Silvia says
Both of these worked for me. I paid 20 cents for four M&M’s (making them 5 cents each). Got 4 of the the $3.89 Stayfree’s for $0.00. Paid 83 cents between the 20 cents for the 4 M&M’s and the tax for the 4 Stayfree’s. What a deal!!!! Thanks, Liza.
Cathy Singer says
Please someone tell me how this works with a coupon that says you have to pay for one Thanks Cathy
Lisa says
Loved getting 4 packs of stayfree for .45 cents Thanks for all you do!
missy says

Thomasina says
Today I got 2 Frap’s, 2 Aussie hair care, 4 Stride gum,4 m&m’s and 4 Stayfree for 3.76 + 1.75 tax TOTAL $5.51 and got a $1 RR back for my bag card. WHOO HOOO!!
Heather says
My CVS wouldn’t take the coupons. They told me that I wasn’t “technically buying anything.” Is this right?
carmen says
they are wrong. but each store/cashier interprets coupons differently (and I think some are jealous you are saving so much! LOL) I would go to a different cvs or a different cashier. Usually I tell them that I called the manufacturer and they said they would be reimbursed. because I have talked to manufacturers on this same situation before. it usually works. 🙂 Good luck!
Andrea says
Does anyone know if any stores keep Sunday Tampa Tribs after Sunday. Thanks
carmen says
also, I noticed my walmart had the last sunday’s paper as far out as Thursday.
cindy says
I called around once and found a publix here and there that had a stray paper or two. One even had a couple that were two weeks old.
Kimberly says
In my city, the newspaper home office has paper boxes out front that has the Sunday newspaper all week. It may be the same in your city.
Andrea says
Thanks Kimberly
Cynthia says
I had no problem with the B1G1 coupons in my CVS and the cashier was the store manager. Thanks for the post Liza!
Jenn says
I have a $1/1 for the Stayfree as well as the B1G1 coupon….should be able to use both….I’ll let you know if it works..
Tanya says
My CVS was out of the Pretzel M&M’s today…and although I wanted to try them…they substituted another variety at my request w/ the same savings.
Heather says
Liza-thank you so much for posting this stay free deal! My neighbors just had a baby and are having an extremely hard time financially, so I was able to get her 6 boxes of pads for just the sales tax. It’s so nice to be able to help out other people even though we are in the hole financially ourselves.
My cvs was out of pretzel M&Ms today and refused to substitute another kind and then coped an attitude with me about giving me a rain check…yeessshhhhhh! I think a call to the manager may be in order.
Kathy O'Barr says
I have been to 3 CVS stores in my area and all 3 said that they were unable to take any B1G1 coupons on an item that is B1G1. I asked each one of them if they get reimbursed for the manufactures coupons and they each responded yes, but they received an email from head quarters that it is their policy not to honor this transaction.
Crystal says
I wasn’t able to use the B1G1 Q’s at the CVS in Clearwater on Gulf to Bay. After a lengthy discussion with the cashier and manager, they still wouldn’t budge. I purchased six M&M’s, a Schick razor with a raincheck and coupon, 20oz pepsi and big grab chips – for .50! I’ll go back to get the Stayfree with my ECB’s. Thanks Liza for all you do.
