Lisa says
i thought there was a limit of 2 how did you buy 4 at once?
Cynthia says
If I have $5 ECB and buy 4 with the coupons you show, will I get back ECB or do I actually need to pay with $ ??
Liza says
Hi Cynthia! Great question. Okay if you have $5 ECBs, buy all four body wash with the coupons I showed. AND, buy a candy bar or something that is $1.00. I say that because you have $5 ECBs and the only money you will have to spend on the body wash is $4.00. So, you will have $1.00 extra to spend on something else. After you use your $5 ECBs, you will still receive $8 ECBs back!! That’s actually what I do every week. I roll my ECBs from one week to another so I don’t have to spend much money out of pocket 🙂
Cynthia says
Thanks Liza! That answered my question perfectly!!

i figured it out..thanks

Liza, I asked this question before. What is a money maker? Do they actually give you money back. I bought the body wash and got the $8 ECB and then I bought the Nature Made vitamins and my total came to $3.59 and I wanted to use my ECB and the manager said they never give $back with that ECB and that I would have to use it next time. I used it tonight for milk, but I’m curious about the money maker you keep speaking about.
Liza says
Hi Vicki! The manager was correct that CVS doesn’t give money back. When I use the term moneymaker, I am basically saying that you are making money (in the form of ECBs which are instant rebates). So, when you bought the body wash, you made money in the form of $4 ECBs. I can see how the term “moneymaker” is deceiving. When I am using the term moneymaker, I am trying to tell you that you will receive more ECBs than what you paid for the item. And, since ECBs are essentually cash, you can then put the moneymaking ECBs towards other items in lieu of putting cash towards them. Does that make sense? Let me know because I can see how this would be confusing 🙂

Thanks Liza for explaining the moneymaker. I love CVS and the ECB system. I got free milk because I had the $8 ECB. Milk is usually what I end up getting with them, so it saves our family quite a bit of money. Milk does get expensive and we like the CVS brand. Where did you get the B1G1 Gillete coupons. I got buy a deodorant, get a body wash free? Thanks for taking the time to do this. Also, I created a binder for all my coupons with trading card sleeves and I have them all by expiration date and I will be keeping it in my car all the time.

I went to cvs and got 5 body washes. I had ecbs so I used it with a b1g1 free coupon on the gillete, and got an extra body wash with the $4 off 2 products coupon fpr free. I also had another b1g1 free coupon on the old spice from my p&g book. I used 8 ecbs and got back 8 ecbs along with 5 body washes. You’ve got to love couponing. This is awesome. I am know stocked up on my husbands favorite body washes.
Liza says
Yeah! Good job ChrystalM 🙂

Hi Liza, I went to CVS today to get this offer and the cashier would only allow me to get two bottles. I informed him that I had a B1G1 and he said he could still only allow me to leave with two bottles. Therefore he would only allow me to use one coupon. Needless to say I walked out empty handed.
Liza says
Wow. Interesting! I’m very surprised this happened! Did you ask to speak with manager?
Kathy O'Barr says
No I wasn’t quite sure what to say to him. I am pretty new to cutting coupons.
Liza says
Got it. Here’s what I would have done, I would have asked to speak with a manager. I would have asked the manager if CVS accepts B1G1 coupons. (They do, so it’s a trick question). When he/she says yes, I would then ask why I couldn’t buy four body wash and use two B1G1 coupons. I would also remind them that CVS gets reimbursed for the full coupon value from the manufacturer so it’s not like CVS is losing money because you are using coupons.
It sounds to me like the cashier you had didn’t really understand how to use coupons. It’s surprising b/c I find CVS to be very coupon friendly and knowledgeable. I know you are new to couponing, but don’t get frustrated! Next time ask to speak with a manager and have them explain to you why or why not you can use the coupons..

Thanks for posting this about the Gillette stuff. I have been so consumed about buying Old Spice that I completely forgot about the Gillette coupons! Sometimes I have a one track mind, I swear! lol

I’m so excited, I just rocked this deal! When I went into CVS the coupon kiosk gave me a Q for $5 off $25. So I got the 4 Gillette body wash using one $4/2 and two B1G1. I also got two Off Clip-On refills priced at $3.99 using two $3 CVS Q from the CVS website and two $1 MQ. I was up to $23.98 so I went and picked up four packages of the Taster’s Choice individual packets and used two B1G1 coupons which I discovered expired today! I was actually surprised when my total was only $1.07. I saved $30.96 and got 8 ECB back!

went to CVS and got more body wash! I had gotten a bunch at Walgreens last week. I didn’t have anymore of the $4 coupons, so just got 2 body washes.. had a BOGO coupon, so they were both free and made $4 after ecbs!
I bought other items too, spent only $3+ oop, and got back $9ecbs.. love it when you get back more ecbs than you spend!
