This post includes specific items you can purchase and coupons that you can use to maximize your dollar AND your Extra Care Bucks at CVS. Please know that you do not have to follow these transactions if you do not want to. The goal of this post is to help you get an idea on how to roll your Extra Care Bucks from one scenario to the next. Please also know that these transactions do not take into account tax. Every state taxes differently so you may need to budget a little extra to cover tax.

I attempted to use the B1G1 coupon and .75 off 2 on the purchase of three Milky Way bars today at my local CVS. The store manager told me it was against CVS policy to accept both coupons. Furthermore he told me that a purchase (The coupons states one coupon per purchase which I interpreted to mean that each item is a purchase) is the same as a transaction and that I was trying to cheat the system. He said it was that stores policy not to accept coupons this way and it didn’t matter what CVS corporate policy states. This is not the first time this manager has been rude to me over the use of coupons. I have complained before to their corporate office, clearly with no result. I am finished with this CVS and won’t be back. Ughhhh!

Hi Tamara! Thanks for the comment and update. I updated my CVS post to say that not all stores will accept both coupons. Your manager is correct in that CVS’ policy is that they will not allow two coupons on a BOGO sale. The difference here is that the sale isn’t BOGO.. the coupon is B2G1. That said, I’m not 100% surprised by his/her reaction. I find that overall, CVS is much easier to shop at than Walgreens. Don’t let this manager get you down. If anything, try shopping at another store (if you have another nearby). Or – you can continue to call corporate when you have problems and maybe eventually they will do something. I called corporate when my local store decided to stop accepting printable coupons and it didn’t take long for them to start accepting coupons again. 😉

Thanks! I will be calling corporate on Tuesday. You’ve inspired me to try another CVS location before throwing in the towel. I appreciate all you do. 🙂

Don’t throw in the towel 🙂 Throw away the Milky Way deal and just get two for free if you have to. 🙂
