Below are new CVS scenarios. This post includes specific items you can purchase and coupons that you can use to maximize your dollar AND your Extra Care Bucks at CVS. Please know that you do not have to follow these transactions if you do not want to. The goal of this post is to help you get an idea on how to roll your Extra Care Bucks from one week to the next. Please also know that these transactions do not take into account tax. Every state taxes differently so you may need to budget a little extra to cover tax.
If you are new to shopping at CVS, go HERE to read Intro to CVS.

Transaction #1
Buy two Crest Toothpaste 4.2 oz at $2.99 each (will receive $4 ECBs)
Use two $0.75/1 Crest Toothpaste 11/28/2010 P&G Insert (exp 12/31/2010)
(If you have remaining ECBs from last week use them here to save even more!)
Total Due: (if you don’t use ECBs) $4.48
Receive $4.00 ECBs
Transaction #2
Buy one Infusium 23 shampoo, conditioner or leave-in treatment 16oz $5.99 (will receive $2 ECB)
Use one $2/1 Infusium 23 Hair Product All You Dec 2010 (exp 1/31/2011)
Minus $4.00 ECBs from Transaction #1
Total Due: Nothing
Receive $2 ECBs
Transaction #3
Buy two Glade Fragrance Collection diffusers $6.00 each (will receive $3 ECB for spending $10 on Glade Products)
Use one B1G1 Glade Reed Diffuser 11/7/2010 SS Insert (exp 12/19/2010)
Minus $2 ECBs from Transaction #2
Total Due: $4.00
Receive $3 ECBs
Total Remaining ECBs to apply towards next week’s ad: $3.00 ECBs
Total Out of Pocket for all 3 transactions: $8.48+ applicable taxes for $23.97 in products. Don’t forget that if you use ECBs from last week, you will spend much less out of pocket on Transaction #1.
**Also – Don’t forget that you ECBs will expire in a few weeks and if you let them expire, you are basically throwing away money. If you are concerned you will let them expire, I would put your ECBs towards paper products like toilet paper and paper towels which are hard to get dirt cheap!
Stephanie M. says
To make Transaction 1 a little sweeter, I received a mailing in November from P&G with $42 in coupon savings. On the front it says, “Have you tried this yet? Great Brands. Bright Ideas.”
Inside there is $1/off Crest Toothpaste 4.0 oz or larger.
So you’re total OOP before ECB would be 4.23 and you would get $4 in ECB back.
(Use $1/1 from this mailer and .75/1 from P&G 11/28 insert).
I have $4 in ECB on one receipt, so I will pay .23 plus tax and get my $4 back.
Thank you so much for these scenarios each week!
