Hey Everyone! I would love some feedback on the almost daily post I make called Emailing for Coupons. I know that many of you have been participating in this activity and some of you have had awesome results while others haven’t received many coupons at all. I have received a lot of emails lately from readers asking how they can get more coupons by emailing companies and I would love to hear your thoughts. And, for those of you who have been successful and received coupons in the mail, please give your tips!
Thanks!
I love, love, love it! But I do get behind and usually email the company a few days to a few weeks after it is posted.
Thanks for all you do!
I think its a great concept! Although I haven’t had any luck yet. I tried planters, but they did not have any coupons or anything 🙁 But I will not give up 🙂
I often email companies and ask to be put on their mailing list for coupons. I get great results, even from companies who don’t regularly put out coupons. Here are a few tips:
1. Only email for products you actually like and prefer over their competitors. Go through your cabinets and make a list of what you use. Think about what brand you like best. (Jif or Skippy? etc)
2. Personalize your email. Don’t just state you like the product –state WHY you like the product.
3. Be sincere. Company reps read thousands of complaints and compliments every year. They can spot a fake one from a mile away.
4. Do not email a company just because someone posted they received great coupons. Companies get slammed with emails of this nature. If they are used to getting a few emails a week, they will send out good coupons. If they start getting hundreds a week, they will send out less valuable stuff.
Good luck!
I’ve been doing Couponing to Disney’s “5 a Day,” but haven’t had much more than a thank you e-mail from any of the companies. Do they send the coupons via snail mail after a thank you e-mail? Just wondering. Not really worth my time if I’m not rewarded…they are rewarded when I purchase their product.
I think with that 5 a day, can you imagine how many people are doing that? So these 5 companies are getting slammed with compliments all on the same day from tons of people. I think that’s why people aren’t seeing lots of coupons in the mail with that. Just my opinion but I think she should just post a master list and people could email them at random so the same company is not slammed all in one day!
I love emailing companies and for the most part, have had awesome results (90 out of 100 times, I get coupons) in receiving coupons.
I only email companies who’s products I use regularly or if I have a product feedback (positive or negative) or if I think they should redesign a package.
I guess my tips would be to be honest, don’t ask for coupons and tell them if your children like it or not…my 4 year old is PICKY so if she actually eats something I’m excited and let the company know.
I find it fun and worth my time to spend a few minutes contacting a company, even if I get a coupon or not.
I tried with one company within the past week, but all I got back was an email saying “thank you.” I’ll try every now and again, but I wouldn’t find that to be an efficient use of my time.
I got a Driscoll’s dollar off coupon yesterday. Thanks!
I agree with the comment Vicki stated above I recently sent a Thank You to Simply Potatoes not requesting for them to give me a coupon but stating how much my family love the product etc…Received a email back yesterday stating that they will send me coupons. Thanks ATS(Addicted To Saving)
I have had about 50/50 luck with emailing for coupons. I like telling companies how I feel about their products especially if I have a problem otherwise how can they fix it.
I have had about 75% success with getting coupons from companies I email! I never ask for coupons! I just tell them why I like their product and they usually send some back! I have received coupons recently from Kashi, Campbells, Welches, Emerald and Simply Potatoes to name a few! Thanks Liza for posted the contacts at the companies!
I’ve had pretty good luck with this. I find most companies at the very least send a thank you e-mail and about half of them I write to I later receive coupons via snail mail. It only takes a couple minutes and I feel it’s well worth the time 🙂
My favorite so far are the ones I received in the mail just today… 2 $1/1 Arnold product!
I am loving this so far. I have had great success. Most companies have sent coupons. If they didnt send a coupon I did at least get some sort of response!
I only get coupons here and there from the companies that we email, but most of them do at least send an email saying thank you for your comments.
I have started of list of what coupons I do get and when I get them. So, maybe six months from now, I will email them again and hopefully get more coupons.
I thought when I went to this page that there was going to be an automatic way that you can send my email address to the coupon stores and they would send me a coupon. If you don’t already have that I would like to suggest it.
I think if she were to do that it would take out the effectiveness of product feedback. We can’t all have the same experience with a certain company and ultimately the coupons are a reward for us taking out the time to write/email them.
I have been having great success with with getting coupons. I have also received great new recepies!! Thank you for a great job!!!!
