I just had a question about how to use coupons…I’m still pretty new to this and yesterday I went to Publix and I was buying ziploc bags and I had a b1g1 coupon and a $1 off 2 coupon and the cashier said I could only use one or the other. Am I just supposed to use a b1g1 coupon and not combine it with anything else?
Hi Jenni! Okay. First let me preface this by saying that some Publix’s will not allow you to use a coupon on the free item. So, if you use a B1G1 coupon, they will not let you use a second coupon on the second item. That said, most Publix’s do allow this so I’m thinking that the problem was because you weren’t buying enough items.
If you buy two items and you use a B1G1 coupon, then when you use a second coupon on the second it must be off of one. In other words if you had a $1/1 coupon or a $0.50/1 coupon or whatever, you could have used that one. Basically, because you were use a $1/2 and a B1G1, then you were in a sense using two coupons on one of the items.
Here’s a great way to use the B1G1 coupon with the ziploc bags. Buy four boxes, Use two B1G1 coupons and one $1/2 coupon. There should not have been an issue if that was the case. Let me know if you have any further questions. These kind of coupon scenarios can definitely be confusing!
I saw this post and went right to the Winn Dixie by my work. I was afraid they would give me a hard time so I bought something else. It worked!!!! The only thing was the cashier had to call the manager over to override it but they didn’t question it and I got 4 Cover Girl products free! It was awesome. I just wonder if other people have been successful?? Thank you!!!
