Book Description:
The focus of a gluten related health condition is too often about what you can’t have. Food 101 – Gluten will show you natural foods that you can ADD to your diet to help reduce your symptoms and rebuild your digestive system.
Gluten was practically an unknown term 20 years ago that only those diagnosed with celiac disease were required to pay attention to. Now, 1 in every 16 people is diagnosed with some form of gluten intolerance, sensitivity, or allergy. Worse yet, according to some research, as much as 40% of the U.S. population may be affected by gluten-related health issues and not know it. Symptoms such as:
bloating – abdominal discomfort – pain or diarrhea – headaches and migraines – attention deficit disorder – muscular disturbances – lethargy – hyperactivity – joint pain
If you regularly experience more than one of these symptoms, you could have a gluten related health concern. Did you know there are proactive steps you can take to reduce these symptoms and rebuild your digestive system naturally?
I just wanted to tell you about another great book called “Wheat Belly”. The author was on the Dr. Oz show talking about the adverse effects of wheat and gluten. He also just recently released the “Wheat Belly Cookbook.” They are both so informative. He doesn’t encourage eating “typical” gluten free foods since most (like bread) are made from rice flour or tapioca, cornstarch, millet etc. These still spike your blood sugar like wheat products and cause the tired, “need a nap”, no energy thing. Anyways, he recommends bread from almond flour, flax seed, nut meals…. Good filling protein, no blood sugar spikes. Also from the angle of joint inflammation and abdominal distress, asthma, headaches, and weight gain. Sorry this post got so long. I just know how much better I feel in the 6 weeks I’ve been following it, not to mention several pounds lost. I’m going to download the free Kindle book too. Thanks for all your hard work, Liza!
One little ad on. Almond flour is pretty expensive, but I buy natural almonds when they are BOGO, with coupons if any are available, and then grind them up myself with my coffee grinder. Works great! 🙂
Thanks for the info Brenda! I’ve heard of Wheat Belly and love to hear your thoughts on it! I will watch it to see if I can find a deal on it 🙂 Have a great weekend!
