I am really starting to enjoy Wednesdays! I really like watching reality television. I know that some of you may hate it while others may like it. Extreme Couponing is right up my alley – it talks about couponing, saving money and it is a train wreck. For me that is the perfect combination for an enjoyable night of reality television!
Did you watch Extreme Couponing last week? I have to say that my husband and I actually enjoyed watching Amy. Amy was the lady from Missouri (I think that is where she is from??)… What I really enjoyed about Amy is that she had multiple uses for all of the items she purchased. She seemed different from a lot of the other couponers showcased on Extreme Couponing. She seemed to coupon out of a necessity and while she bought numerous quantities of each item, she seemed to have a planned use for everything. Instead of just showcasing them in her stockpile like some of the Extreme Couponers seem to do.. Amy even showed how she saves money by gardening, canning her veggies every year, hunting for their meat, etc etc. I liked that about her. What did you think?? (Speaking of gardening, I will take a picture and post about the little garden my mom and I planted – it is THRIVING!! I’m still waiting for my husband to build me a sandbox garden so that I can plant a bit more!)
I’m going to do my best to watch Extreme Couponing live tonight. (The new episode airs at 9:30 pm EST.) That said, I’m battling strep so I may crash before then. But, if I’m up, I’ll go onto Addicted to Saving’s Facebook page so that we can chat about it while we watch it live! Last week quite a few of you chatted with me and some of you had me cracking up. So, if you are up and in the mood to chat while watching tonight’s new episode, go to Addicted to Saving’s Facebook page and see if I’m on there.. If I am, I would love to hear your thoughts! (Both the good and bad – I know none of you hold back and I love that!)
**If you are new to Addicted to Saving and would like to start couponing and saving money, I can’t wait to help you out! Feel free to get started by reading my Addicted to Saving 101 – Intro to Coupons post.

I thought Amy was wonderful. She couponed because she needed too and not just to hoard. $80 a month budgeted for a family of 6! I still think about her. What a strong woman!

I am enjoying the TLC series as well, I keep an open mind and can always learn from someone. My container gardens are doing well. I hope to plant a raised bed after our trip this weekend.

You have spoiled us… I was really expecting a step by step of how to garden…. I love not having to put much thought into things!!!! Thank You for all you do!!!!

Haha! Chris your comment made my night. Trust me when I say that you do not want a step by step gardening post from me. Until I learn how to garden I will not give any tips.. Although, I could probably write a “What not to do while gardening” post… 😉 Let’s just see if I can keep my current veggies alive for more than 11 days (that is what we are at now.. )

I enjoy the show, and the amount of money saved is amazing. I can’t help but think that some it is crazy. I save a lot of money by couponing but I still spend plenty of money on healthy stuff such as fresh produce, milk, ect. So many coupons are simply for junk food and I think you have to find a balance so that you can still eat healthy too.
