As you may have noticed lately, stores are really starting to crack down on fraudulent coupons. My local CVS has really cracked down. I received a couple emails yesterday regarding this and last night when I stopped in to do the Gillette Body Wash deal, I was able to get more specifics.
My store is no longer accepting printable coupons. The only printable coupons they are accepting are the ones with CVS logos on them. Beyond that, each and every printable coupon will be turned away. Why are they doing this? Because too many people are giving bogus coupons. As a reminder, if a coupon seems too good to be true (i.e. FREE, extra high value, from a pdf file) then it is probably fraudulent. Also, my CVS is cracking down on Extra Care Cards. Each household should have no more than one Extra Care card per household.
**Note that this coupon policy change may vary from store to store. I would recommend that when you stop into your local CVS, before you start shopping, ask what your store’s policy is.

what about the printables that we are sent from the manufacturer….like the clairol one i just got from facebook? It’ll be for a free item. Let’s hope publix will take it!
btw, i was given a coupon from a lady customer at target for free doritos. the folks at publix said it was a fake. It looked SOOOOO real.

The Clairol coupon is probably coming in the mail right? If so, it will hopefully be on a different type of paper stock than copy paper. CVS may take that coupon..
And, yes, the free doritos is a notorious fake coupon. Any printable coupon that is for free items are fake. (Unless the coupon is one you received in the mail from the manufacturer)

My CVS (Hanley & Hilllsborough Ave.) is not accepting any printables either.

I shop there also and they take mine. Did they stop recently?

just called into cvs corporate and they acted shocked that any cvs stores are no longer taking printable coupons. LOL. They did say that it could be valid, but at a district level. The guy said he couldn’t understand why a business decision of that magnitude could be reached without notifying them at corporate. who knows? They are contacting my district manager and asking if our district is still accepting printable coupons. then they will train the district if needed that they can take printables, just not FRAUDULENT coupons obviously. The rep also told me to encourage y’all to call in 1.800.SHOP.CVS option 3 so they can get a message to your district manager on the topic of printable coupons. I called in hoping to be a voice that I will do less shopping at CVS if they take away our ability to use printable coupons. I hope I made some impact on their decision!

My store (Gulf to Bay and Keene) in Clearwater, FL, is still taking them. The girls there hadn’t heard otherwise. They love my coupons!
