**Update – I posted about this last month and they are still accepting applicants so I wanted to repost for those of you who missed my original post!
Many of you have tried to join Nielsen National Consumer Panel in the past but were not eligible because of the zip code you lived in. Nielsen Homescan has expanded their zip codes are are accepting many new zip codes. You might want to try to apply again if you have been declined in the past! (I can’t promise you will be accepted, but it doesn’t hurt to apply!) When you join, you will take surveys and be equipped with a scanner to monitor the purchases you make each week. You will be rewarded with prizes like electronics, household products and more! Go HERE to apply. You will find out whether or not you are eligible right away.
Reader Feedback:
**Shane, “My wife and I did it years ago when we lived in FL and got cash every month for doing it. We were so sad when those checks stopped coming.”
**Pat wrote, “I also was a Nielson “scanner” in Michigan about 4 years ago. It was a good deal. I saved my points and got several Christmas presents for family. A tool set and a convertable little vacuum were 2 that I remember. I applied a week ago, and hope I will be accepted again. And it’s fun to do!”
**Jaki wrote, “I signed up about a month ago, and received and email yesterday saying I had been selected for a scanner! I’m excited to but my couponing to good use.”

I have the scanner and have scanned and transmitted twice since I set it up. You have to scan a LOT to get even the minimum of reward points needed (thousands of points) and you get like 150 points when you transmit. You can also answer surveys. I’m not sure if it’s worth my time. Still thinking about it. Liza, do you have the scanner? Also, is there anyway to know if you respond to a post other than checking back on it. Is there a way to get an email knowing someone made a comment after you?

Can’t say that I am thrilled with it either. It is time consuming if you have a big family and do a lot of shopping. A lot of time for little or no reward. I’m sending mine back. I have gotten more from swagbucks by far.
