I thought it would be fun to start a new daily post called Emailing for Coupons. What we will do is email companies and give them our feedback – both good and bad. Manufacturers will often mail coupons out when you contact them!
I will give you a head’s up – there is NO GUARANTEE that we will receive a coupon. But, if we band together and email one company per day maybe we will all get lucky! I will keep track of all the companies we email and will also keep track of what we received (if anything). Every day I will post the company and the companies’ email address that we are emailing. There is no need to mail them physical envelopes. We will do everything online so that we don’t spend money on postage and so as to save time.
What do you think? Does this sound fun? Here’s what we will do, we will email one company per day – I will post a daily reminder about this. In our letters to the company we email, we will include any personal feedback we can give. For example, if I write a letter to Starkist Tuna, I will let them know that while I really enjoy their tuna, I was really disappointed when opened the plastic off of a four-pack that I purchased to find that one of the cans were partially open. It smelled bad and of course the tuna was bad. OR – if I write a company like Nabisco, I will tell them that I love the new Wheat Thin Stix. They are super tasty and a fun snack to enjoy during the day. Make sense?
And – to help you, I have created somewhat of a “form” letter. Just make sure you type in your own thoughts and information. I typed this “form” letter to help you save time. I don’t want you guys spending a lot of time on this project. Your goal is to type up and email your letter in a matter of just a few minutes a day. And, don’t forget that the goal of this letter is to provide feedback – both good and bad. So, use your own thoughts. And, you don’t have to ask for a coupon. The company will send coupons out voluntarily.

I wanted to thank you for taking the time to read this email. I am a (fan/not a fan/undecided) of your product (insert product name). I enjoyed/disliked your product because (insert your personal thoughts and be specific).
I plan on OR don’t plan on purchasing your product (insert product name) again in the future. (Tell the company why.)

I wrote into the company who makes cheezits, asking them if they still make a product. which they no longer do . but they sent me a coupon for any free product from their company,
i also wrote hostess and told them how much i enjoy their products and again got a coupon fora free item from hostess

you do have a better response if you snail mail AND include a UPC from an actual purchase…either way, keep track of what companies you’ve ‘mailed’ to and don’t do repeats for the same product until a lot of time (6 mths or so) have gone by.

Liza-I’ve already started doing this (got the idea from a couponing woman in St. Louis), but I still cannot master paying for groceries like you do! Truly frustrated! My Publix in Brandon does not allow multiple Publix coupons for one item, but one Publix and one manufacturer coupon. On your Show and Tell, all the coupons that you list under your product, you use all those, right? What is your advice for me since I’m not getting much savings? I have two little ones who take up a lot of my time, but I can’t seem to get coupons around the Publix weekly sales. And I sure wish they’d have produce and meat coupons regularly (like for roasts, pork, turey, etc.). Thanks for your help, time, and website.
Hate to send you off in another direction but besides my daily printing of coupons for things I know I use I also check each of the sites that list for Publix at the link below after the Publix Sale flyer comes out – I try to concentrate on the B1G1 offers that I have four coupons for….two manufacturer and two store/competitor coupons and stock piling is key so you are only buying that way…as far as the meat and produce think non-grocery store there. Look at co-ops for produce and if you have a freezer and have friends with freezers look at buying a 1/4, 1/2 or full pig, steer, etc. and split it up…when our kids were small we did that once a year and had enough to last all year. Produce we bought peak season and canned or froze quite a bit to get through the leaner winter months.

I had purchased some Betty Crocker mini roll ups for the children and they would not come off paper, at all! So I wrote and told them and they sent me 2 coupons for any box free and 1 coupon for $1 off any betty crocker product!! So i am also super excited to do this daily too!!

I received 4 .50 off for any Hunts product, $1/1 off for Steam n Mash potatoes, .75/1 off for Sweet Potatoe Fries, $1/3 Ore Ida Frozen Potatoes! and the coupons for the OreIda Have a yummy receipe for for “loaded Mashed Potato Casserole” I’m happy!!
I got an email back from Heinz Ketchup thanking me for emailing them my thoughts about their product (which was all positive because it’s the ONLY ketchup we all enjoy!) and they said they will be sending me coupons in the mail! Wooooooo!

Ok, I just joined today and I have sent off my first email to manufacturer of Dukes mayonnaise – love love this mayonnaise. Will let you know what type of response I get!
I am definately joining today!! I do this here and there for certain companies I have a hard time finding coupons for. A few weeks back I email Playtex about coupons for diaper genie refills and today I got a coupons to save up to 6.99 on a refill, which means it will be free since they are about $6 at Target & Walmart!! 🙂

Just wanted to let you know that one of the first emails that I sent out the day I joined (the day AddictedToSaving.com was featured on Good Day Tampa Bay), I received 2 $0.75 coupons in the mail today!! This was from Dukes Mayonnaise. This topped my day after saving almost $90.00 in Coupons and B1G1 plus a $10.00 Publix Gift Card! I am definitely addicted! Thanks so much!!!

I emailed TreeTop Apple Juice to tell them thank you for using only apples from the USA. They sent me 2 coupons, One for any free item and one for $.55 off. Such a great company
I emailed the Congrafood people (sp) and commented on their sunflower seeds.

I recently emailed Johnsonville to ask about a new product that I could not find in the store and they sent me some coupons. I also called the Oscar Myer company about a product I was not happy with and they sent a 4.50 coupon for a product.
This a great idea, We love Aunt Jemamiah syrup and pancake mix and they rareley have coupons anymore inthe paper.
I have done this with products I’ve had issues with. But I call the 800# on the package. The few times was for diapers because the tabs would come off multiple ones, or that certain package the diapers in there would leak more the usual. They are always so very happy that I called with the info, one of the companies sent me a return address envelope to send on in to them so they could investigate further. They always give me a choice of giving me my money back, or sending a free coupon. I never thought of emailing a company! I was goingto call Pampers to let them know how happy I was with their diapers!!

I think this is a really great idea, and completely accurate because companies what your buisness and they want to make sure you are satisfied. So more times than not you will receive coupons or free product coupons just to keep you coming back!!! This is awesome!!
I love this idea and would love to get started, is there a list of companies that we can contact. Also is it better to send email or to call.

I did this about 2 years ago…via email and snail mail and did get alot of coupons and even got a few packages. I think I am going to jump on board and do it again! Thanks for the inspiration!!!
I wrote to Yankee Candle and got a $10.00 off coupon! I also wrote to Tums and got a coupon for free tums.

Just a heads up. If you want a coupon, you are better off to directly ask for one. Im a Customer Service rep for a company that has been receiving this form letter and I know for a fact that some companies have policies that allow them to send a coupon only if asked. So, take a moment to identify a specific product and if you dont know one, quickly go to the webiste of the Company and find a product you would like to try. I realize this changes the “form letter” a bit, but will hopefully get you even more coupons. 🙂
This is what I have been doing. I now have about 15 reply emails saying that the dont mail out coupons but the apperciate the compliments.
Emailed Mahatma Rice—-Received 2 coupons for $0.50 on any mahatma rice coupons (both coupons say not to be doubled)
And 1 coupon for $0.50 mahatma rice mix.
I emailed Nissin this morning (6/2). They replied and said they don’t have any coupons. FYI.
I love this idea and I will start the email project tomorrow. I do know that Sara Lee will send good coupons and they have lots of products the problem is finding Sara Lee products in the stores.
I emailed Viactiv from their website and asked for a coupon and they promptly sent me 2 $1 off one coupons for the soft chew dietary supplement.
I received this address of AddictedtoSaving.com from a lady at the store while we both were making sure our Sunday papers had their adds in them. I will start tomorrow sending emails out. Wanted to Thank her and You for helping all of us out.

I emailed pepsi, bubba burgers, turkey hill, and 5 hour energy drink.
Pepsi and 5 hour energy replied saying they have no coupons, but have promotions. 🙁 I have not heard from Bubba Burgers yet, but Turkey Hill sent me a very nice email stating they would add me to their list for future notifications and they would be following up their email with a letter and would include coupons.
EatSmart Veggies mailed me coupons in the mail!
To date, I have received coupons from BAR-S, Boboli, Amy’s Foods, Bayer, and Crystal Farms. Not all are from this site, but I love, love, love the sharing idea. I have also received coupons along with samples after completing sample/inventory requests for Taster’s Choice Coffee, and Carefree Pantyliners, and I have a whole lot more in the pipeline.

I hope you’re not suggesting that people make up fake complaints, because that’s not right. There are too many people who try to cheat any system they can. Don’t be one of them. Also, if you think that companies are not aware of sites like this, you’re mistaken.
Hi Carly- I am 100% against dishonesty. There is no reason at all to cheat the system. In fact, the coupons I have received in the mail have been in response to compliments I have given. The template letter I give above is nothing more than an aid for you to use as you create your own personal letter. That is why my template letter has so many options for you.
