After 12 days of being sick, I finally felt good enough to get out of the house and bring my son to the grocery store. The other incentive is that I didn’t really have a choice since we have my in-laws staying over our house and our refrigerator was entirely bare. 😉 But it was actually really good to be back at it couponing and taking advantage of some of the great deals this week. You will notice we bought a ton of produce (approximately $23 worth of it). We also had to stock up on some dairy necessities like yogurt (my son has yogurt at almost every meal), milk and Ricotta (since I made a lasagna for my sister-in-law’s family). We got some great deals despite having to buy a lot of pricey staples and ended up saving $98.98 when we factored in the sales savings and coupons. Not too shabby when your grocery cart if filled to the brim! My pasta sauce and dried pasta stockpile is also filled to the brim which makes me happy. If I’m really honest with you, we’ve done a lot of pasta the past couple of weeks while I’ve been sick. Such an easy meal and while it isn’t innovative or even particularly healthy, it serves the purpose when you are in survival mode! And, once I start feeling better, I’ll be cooking veggies to go along with our carb loaded dinner and it will make it much more well-rounded. 🙂

I also used the $10 off $50 gas card coupon and bought hubby a gas card for $40.00. However, I didn’t factor the $40 in my numbers below.
