I had to go to Walgreens today – not for anything in particular – but because I wanted to take advantage of the Walgreen Friends and Family Discount that I posted about yesterday.  Walgreens has some great deals this week so I went in with the goal of using my $10RRs (Register Rewards) and spending as little as possible on moneymakers or freebies.  I did a pretty good job.  The only thing missing from this picture is the one filler item I had to buy – Peanut Butter Whoppers.  My husband went with me on my Walgreens trip and I let him get a box of Whoppers even though it caused me to spend a bit more than I wanted.  Oh well – at least the Whoppers were tasty!  🙂  The best thing is that I was able to buy everything in one transaction!

Publix & American Express Gift Card Deal

Publix has a pretty good gift card coupon in their current weekly flyer (2/11/10 – 2/17/10 or 2/10 – 2/16 depending on where you live).  The coupons states that you will receive a $10.00 Publix gift card when you buy a $50.00 American Express gift card.  The only downside to this deal is that there is a $4.95 activation fee.  So, you will spend $54.95 on a $50 AE and $10 Publix gift card.  In a sense this makes the $10 Publix gift card only $4.95…

It’s up to you if this deal is worth it.  I’ve never done the Publix gift card deals before but figured I would try it out this week.  And, I know I should be able to make the $50 American Express gift card last me A LONG TIME!

Photo Show and Tell – Publix 2/12/10

I had a fun day at Publix today.  I had a $10 off of $50 Winn Dixie coupon AND a $5 off of $50 Publix coupon burning a hole in my pocket and I was excited to use both of those coupons.  I got AWESOME deals on the Kotex, Country Crock and Goodlife Cat food.  If you want to do the Kotex or Country Crock deal, you have to do these by tomorrow (Saturday 2/13) since the Publix store coupons expire then.  And yes, I did get A LOT of Country Crock but my husband goes through one of those tiny tubs a month (gross I know).  But, it was free.  **UPDATE the Country Crock SHOULD HAVE BEEN FREE but I am loopy on cold medicine and I forgot to hand the cashier two store and two manufacturer coupons for the country crock – eek.  SO, I ended up paying $0.21 for each carton of  Country Crock.  I guess I will have to go back and use up the four coupons I still have in my purse… Darn cold medicine….** I ended up spending $6.83 on the $116.09 worth of groceries you see in the picture above.
