Can you believe it’s time for another Photo Show and Tell? These weeks are flying by and I feel like I was just typing up last week’s Photo Show and Tell. Crazy. I don’t know about you, but I’m not overly thrilled with this week’s Publix ad. Don’t get me wrong, there are a ton of great sales, but for me and my household’s needs, there really wasn’t much that I wanted to buy and stockpile away. I wish I had better coupons for the Dial deal because we are in desperate need of bar soap.. and I wish I had better Steamfresh Veggies coupons because we love Steamfresh veggies (the ones w/o sauce). But, my coupons were only average so I didn’t go crazy. I was excited about the asparagus sale and even though I had no coupons I was also excited about the Aunt Jemima sale.. Oh – I also received my $5.00 Publix Rebate Gift Card from the Kellogg’s Cinnabon Deal I posted about in HERE August.. so, at least I had $5.00 off of my total purchase today 😉 I ended up spending more money than I would have liked considering what I bought, but I’m fine with it.
What are you stocking up on this week? What deals are you taking advantage of?
The items I purchased today coincide with this week’s Publix Weekly ad. To see this week’s ad & coupon matchups, go HERE.
If you are new to saving money at Publix, read my Intro to Publix post!
**NOTE**
1) My Publix allows us to use more than one of the same Publix store coupon and/or competitor coupon. Not all Publix locations allow this. You should ask customer service if they allow this before loading up your cart.
2) You should find out what stores your Publix considers competition so that you know what competitor coupons you can use. Some but not all Publix locations accept Target, Winn Dixie, Whole Foods, Sweet Bay, Walgreens, and many more.
3) Not all Publix locations allow overage. If your Publix does not allow overage, they will adjust the value of the coupon down so that you receive the item for free.

I have been being inspired with your grocery deals each week and this week I have gotten back to refilling my grocery stockpile shelves & freezer. Thanks for the linky.

I love looking at your Pulix Show and Tells. It inspires me even if I buy considerably more than you do each week. I do have a question. I notice you buy items with overage generally each week and this makes your OOP considerably less. Do you generally use these products you get overage on – like the Sominex? or do you buy and give away just to get the overage? My Publix will allow the overage, bu I struggle with buying something I wouldn’t use just to get the overage.
Thanks for all you do!

I buy stuff for the overage and give it away. SOMEONE will always use it. I give it to the church pantry, my mom, etc. I never pass up an overage buy. It lets me buy more capri suns for my four year old! 🙂
Kathryn says
I wouldn’t know anyone who uses Sominex….in that case, would you still do the overage? And what would you do with it?
Kathryn says
I meant to say what would you do with the Sominex if you didn’t have anyone to give it to and you didn’t use it?
Cynthia says
I put anything I don’t use, that I got with overage, in the St. vincent DePaul box at my church. I always figure they’ll find someone needy in my community that can use it!
Teresa says
I’m with you Carmen. I don’t pass up overage when I can help it. I also don’t pass up free to often either. I may not be able to use the overage/free item but either my parents, other relatives or people at work can use it. Or I will donate to food pantries, churches, shelters or animal rescues (depending on the item). They all welcome the help and I welcome the overage. 🙂

You did wonderful this week!!!
Have a great weekend!!

The cashier at the Publix at Ulmerton Road and Missouri Avenue in Pinellas County would not let me use the $1 off 4C cheese AND the free breadcrumbs wyb 4C cheese coupons together!! She said the free breadcrumbs wyb cheese coupon attached to BOTH the cheese and the breadcrumbs!
Teresa says
Hey Shannon. I used four sets of those coupons last week at the store at Curlew & 19. If a cashier tells you no and you believe that you are right, go to customer or speak with a manager after the transaction is completed. I have had to do that more than once and they are always happy to help.

If anyone still has Sundown Vitamin coupons from the green advantage flyer that expired on the 15th, you may want to check to see if your store will take expired Publix coupons. I found tonight that the Vitamin D that’s normally around $2.99 is included in the sale from the new green advantage flyer making them $2.00 a bottle. If you’re store will allow you to use the expired coupons, it should get you decent overage even if that’s the only coupon you have.
