There are some great deals at Publix this week. Free pasta, free Cascadian Farm cerial, FREE Muir Glen sauce, and some other cheap deals. I really wanted to purchase some produce this week which I ended up accomplishing. I think I’m going to try using the Muir Glen sauce I have stockpiled along with the cans I bought today to use in my family’s red sauce recipe… So, homemade meatballs (using frozen ground turkey I have stockpiled) and red sauce may be in the menu next week. I wasn’t planning on buying Quaker True delights granola bars (they are a favorite in our house) but when I saw that there was $1.00/1 peelies on them, I couldn’t pass them up. So, be on the lookout for the peelies! I also bought more Yakisoba noodles because they are $0.10 each and I plan to donate all of them and more to the Warren Backpack Program on November 20th. The Warren Backpack Program gives homeless children easy to fix food so that they have food to eat when they are not at school. Go HERE for more information on the Addicted to Giving Back program as well as drop off location and time if you would like to help. I did spend maybe a bit more money than planned, but I bought a lot so I’m pleased.
What are you stocking up on this week? What deals are you taking advantage of?
The items I purchased today coincide with this week’s Publix Weekly ad. To see this week’s ad & coupon matchups, go HERE.

**NOTE**
1) My Publix allows us to use more than one of the same Publix store coupon and/or competitor coupon. Not all Publix locations allow this. You should ask customer service if they allow this before loading up your cart.
2) Not all Publix locations allow overage. If your Publix does not allow overage, they will adjust the value of the coupon down so that you receive the item for free.

Hi Liza, I am very interested in being able to donate this season some of the great deals I have been stocking up on. I do however want to ask a question in regard to your explanation of the Warren Backpack program. I don’t mean for this to sound rude but how do homeless children cook meals like the Yakisoba when a microwave is required? Wouldn’t ready to eat foods be necessary? Just wondering since each week I am buying extra items with donating in mind.
Liza says
You aren’t rude at all – the way I understand everything is that the school defines “homeless” as children without a permanent, stable living environment or home address. These kids typically bounce from foster homes to friends to relatives and to shelters. They do have access (most often) to microwaves. Some literally are living in the streets and obviously microwaveable items are not appropriate for them, BUT many of them can and will use them. Very good question. Let me know if you have any more – I appreciate your willingness to help!

Hi Gery! It may be gone now? I printed it out on three computers this a.m. and didn’t specify the zip.. if you can’t find it now I am thinking it may be gone…

For anyone looking for Muir Glen coupons. Check their website…there should be $1.00/1 coupons there. You’ll have to sign up for the Tomato Connoisseur. It should be towards the bottom on their homepage. Also check Betty Crocker’s site. There should be a $.75/1 coupon there as well.
