I am so late posting my Photo Show and Tell this week! I did my shopping Thursday night but now here I am posting this on an early Monday evening! These sales are still going on – they will end Wednesday or Tuesday depending on where you live. I didn’t buy a ton of food during this shopping trip because I knew that I wouldn’t be home much the past few days. But I did stock up on Nestle Toll House Morsels because I go through bags and bags morsels when I bake cookies over the holidays. Now is the time to start stocking up on baking and cooking ingredients you use in your favorite holiday meals. So, starting planning ahead and figuring out what you will want to cook and bake this November and December and when you see those items on sale (and you have coupons to use) buy them now! I also scored excellent deals on the Voila frozen meals because the bags all had $1.00 peelies. See my scenario below to score very very cheap bags of Voila meals. Also – if you have the coupons for Vigo Yellow Rice, even if you don’t use the rice, I would recommend you purchase it to donate.
The items I purchased today coincide with this week’s Publix Weekly ad. To see this week’s ad & coupon matchups, go HERE.
If you are new to saving money at Publix, read my Intro to Publix post!
**NOTE**
1) My Publix allows us to use more than one of the same Publix store coupon and/or competitor coupon. Not all Publix locations allow this. You should ask customer service if they allow this before loading up your cart.
2) Not all Publix locations allow overage. If your Publix does not allow overage, they will adjust the value of the coupon down so that you receive the item for free.

When you have an overage do they give you a credit? Our local Publix will not do credits so if you have coupons worth more than the item you simply loose it.
DJ says
Ah, I saw your note about overages after I posted. Ours also won’t let you use a coupon more than once.
Liza says
Hi DJ! Glad you saw the note.. some stores don’t allow overage.. My store won’t give me a credit, but if I have other items that I am purchasing the overage is put towards those items.

I had my first bad experience with Publix and the Wholly Guacamole coupon. I went to a different Publix then I usually go to. The cashier rung it up and then scanned the coupon and saw that it was $4. She then called over a head cashier and she told me they don’t accept coupons over $1 and even questioned the legitimacy of the coupon. I asked her to get the manager and she went back and came back and said the manager is refusing the coupons. I got back to the house and fired off two emails, one to Publix customer relations and one to Wholly Guacamole. Publix never responded back. Wholly responded back within minutes and asked for the stores telephone#. She called the store and told me to go back and speak to a certain individual. I instead went to my normal Publix the next day and they didn’t even blink an eye about accepting them. They did however reduce the coupon down to $2.99.

I am not surprised.. Publix has begun really cracking down on printable coupons because of too many people abusing them.. High value printables like the $4/1 Wholly Guacamole coupon probably made them nervous – especially if you were one of the first people to use the coupon there.. That said, I’m really glad you stood up for yourself and were able to use the coupon at your normal Publix to at least get it free..

Derrek,
As a Publix cashier I thought you should know that it is 100% ILLEGAL for Publix to reduce the value of a man. coupon. They will be reimbursed for the full value no matter how they ring it up or what they write on it. It is coupon fraud on their part. I HIGHLY suggest informing them of that if they every try that again.

llama mama says
You have to register/sign up for their website and then the link will come via email.

The two Publix stores that I shop at have been slowly raising the prices on the vitamins this year. This week the cheapest was $4.29 for one!!! So much for the free and overage on them 🙁

Yep, here too!
