I had a marvelous time at Publix today. My grocery cart was literally overflowing – so much so that I had groceries on top of my purse which is something I never do. The best thing about all of the groceries is that I am giving a ton of them away so that makes me feel even more productive! I shopped at the Publix near me that accepts Target coupons so that I could maximize all of the Target coupons I have stashed away. I did spend a bit more out of pocket than I probably would have desired but I did get fresh veggies and a ton of Birds Eye frozen veggies. We eat a lot of veggies in this house and if we eat frozen veggies, my favorite are Birds Eye Steamfresh veggies (with NO sauce). Pop the bag in the microwave and voila – a healthy side dish. I “splurged” on Oscar Mayer Bacon. I had a manufacturer and a Target coupon burning a hole in my pocket so I couldn’t resist. Besides, that I stocked up on crackers, oatmeal, peanuts, Ore-Ida Hash Browns and I even got six bottles of soda which we barely drink – yes the soda and Hash Browns will definitely be shared! 🙂

**NOTE**
1) My Publix allows us to use more than one of the same Publix store coupon and/or competitor coupon. Not all Publix locations allow this. You should ask customer service if they allow this before loading up your cart.
2) Not all Publix locations allow overage. If your Publix does not allow overage, they will adjust the value of the coupon down so that you receive the item for free.

Wow – that was a great shopping day 🙂

here is a random fact about produce: the price increases because of any reason they want. 😀
too much rain. not enough rain. etc. etc. I remember a while back I heard tomatoes went up because the inspectors were making it to where they could not reuse tomato boxes because of ecoli. so they had to buy new boxes each time. We used to sell our boxes back to the market, because they were clean and dry..
If I hear anything about green beans, I will let you know. definately interesting to me. so thanks for sharing!

I did my Publix trip today too, and have a store a lot like yours, it sounds like. I can use MQ/PQ/Competitor Q on one item and they consider the “Cooking with Kraft” Q’s as PQ’s so I had some really good stacks. My receipt is just over 3 feet long (yes, we measured it).
I spent $35.07 and saved $103.81. Not sure how to do the percentage, but it was a lot 🙂

I am so sad. I got to the checkout line at my publix and found out thast they no longer take the Target coupons. I had several I wanted to use too
missys says
Thanks for posting Liza. I love seeing your deals, you always do so good!
I shopped at the store that takes Target coupons and forgot to check them! Darn it.lol.
S.M. says
Lisa,
If your area is anything like mine, you have 5 different Publix stores to choose from, so find one that does take them and cross that one off your list. When I started out, two of my five took Target coupons, now just one does and they are the most coupon friendly store out of the 6 total I could be at within 10 minutes.

I put my photo on FB but I did great at Publix today. I spent $27.05 and saved $104.28. I hated spending this much but we needed milk LOL. I also splurged on the bacon as my coupons were gonna expire. My DD is out of school for two weeks so I also got a pound of Boar’s Head Ham ($9.71) which accounted for a large portion of my spending.
shavonm says
The Ore Ida potatoes was my highlight. And the pineapple. I’ve been holding on to those coupons for a while now and was excited when I saw they were on BOGO.
Kathryn says
I don’t see any Oreida Target coupons in my 12/5 SS?
What a deal if I could get some!
Monique says
Just curious. Why are there so many printables v. cutting coupons from the newspaper booklets (smart source and red plum)? It just seems that there are more and more printables and less and less cutting coupons from the booklets. By the way, love your website!
Florence says
I bought the WALmart sensuous skin care pack on line for $9 and now I can’t find the rebate info to get my
money back. Does anyone have the rebate info for me?
Thank you.
Liza says
Hi Florence! I am sorry but I’m not aware of the rebate you are looking for. I will do a little research and if I learn of anything, I will respond to the email you sent me earlier today! 🙂
